【題目】Better think twice before choosing a password for email, online bank or shopping. Simple passwords are easy to be stolen.

A password is like a key to your home. If someone steals it, he’ll get chances to steal something else. We use passwords everywhere in our life. We are so used to passwords that we don’t pay any attention to them until we lose or forget one.

A study of 28,000 passwords recently stolen from a popular website showed that people often do the easy thing. It found that 16% took a first name as a password. Another 14% used the easiest keyboard combinations such as “12345678”or “QWERTY”. 5% of the stolen passwords were names of television shows or stars popular with young people. 3% of the passwords expressed feelings like “I don’t care”, “Whatever”, “I love you” or their opposite, “I hate you”.

Robert Graham, who did the study, advises people to choose a password that is longer than eight characters with one capital letter(大寫字母) and one symbol.

Of course, safe passwords don’t mean those hard to remember. Forgetting your password is sometimes a big headache for you. Maybe, the perfect password is easy for you and hard for others.

【題目】Passage 1閱讀短文,回答問題。

Children know that summer is probably the most fun of all seasons. However, experts say it is also the most dangerous, especially, for children aged 14 and under. In its first study of children’s safety in the US, the National Safe Kids Campaign(NSKC) founds that nearly half of the injury-related(與受傷相關(guān)的) deaths among children happened in summer.

Experts are not surprised by the study’s results. They always know summer is a dangerous season for children. During the summer, children are out of the school and spend more time outdoors. They are more likely to get into an accident or be injured. “While we encourage children to be active and spend more time outdoors, they need to understand the importance of safety,” said Everett Koop, an expert of the NSKC.

To help children say safe, the NSKC started a “Make it a Safe Kids Summer” campaign during National Safe Kids Week, from May 5 through May 12. Here are some important summer safety tips from the NSKC:

Always wear your seat belt.

Make sure there is an adult around when you decide to go swimming.

Wear a life jacket when on a boat or doing water sports.

Obey all traffic rules.

【1】Why is summer the most dangerous season of the year in the US?

【2】How long did the Make it a Safe Kids Summer Campaign last?

【3】How many summer safety tips does the NSKC provide?

【4】Must the children understand the importance of safety?

【題目】閱讀下面短文,并根據(jù)所讀內(nèi)容,在空格里填入一個最適當(dāng)?shù)脑~。 We often see top students around us and everyone knows about them. Let us take Jenny as an example. She is the monitor of our class. She spends a lot of time working for our class. But she always gets good grades in all subjects. How do students like Jenny do that? When I asked her, she said, "Hard work is not the whole story. It's not how long you sit at the desk with your books open. It's what you do as you are sitting." In fact, we can see many top students spend fewer hours on their studies than their classmates. Jenny gave me some valuable suggestions.
If your math teacher gives you five exercises, you should do six. If your Chinese teacher gives eight pages of reading, you should read nine. The more you practice, the more you learn.
Studying is a matter of your personal interest, so choose the way you are most comfortable with. Some people like working at night when the house is quiet, while others like doing their work early in the morning. However, others like studying as soon asthey arrive home from school while the work is fresh in their minds. No matter(無論) which way suits you, try to do your best.
Studying is your business and the business comes before entertainment(娛樂). When you are studying, phone calls should go unanswered, TV shows unwatched, snacks given up. Studying is the only thing in your mind. Nothing can pull your attention away from what you are studying.
Studying is like eating. You should eat a little at a time. You can plan what to do today, but don't do too much. When you can't finish the work you planned to do, you will feel stressed and may lose confidence. On the other hand, you will not study well without a good plan. It all depends on how you manage your time.
The students who hand in a clearly written paper are already half way to get an A. Tidy papers are likely to get higher marks than messy(亂糟糟的) ones. When you write clearly and do your work carefully, the thoughts in your mind are clear. You are able to make fewer mistakes.

【題目】Forty years ago, I was in Grade One. One day,I was asked to go to the principal’s office(校長辦公室). I was really nervous. When I pushed the heavy door open. I found my parents were sitting in the office, too. My father walked to me,with some of my drawings in his hand. “Why do you only use a black crayon(蠟筆)when you draw?” he asked.

I said nothing. “Show me to your desk,” said my father.

So we returned to my classroom. My father pulled out my crayon box. There was only one black crayon in it. “Where are the rest of your crayons?”

I quietly explained that I’d given all the other crayons to my friends. I shared my things with others as my parents had taught me.

Then I looked at my father, then at the principal—both their faces were red. In fact, I was too shy to ask for my “shared” crayons back. I didn’t stand up for myself!
