Tina and Mark noticed similar changes in their 14-year-old daughter. "She u3 to cuddle up(依偎)in the sofa and talk, "said Mark. "Now we joke that she does this o4 when she wants something, Sometimes she wants to be treated like a little girl and sometimes like a young l5. The problem is figuring out which time is which. "

Before age 11, children like to tell their parents w6 is on their minds. "In fact, parents are first on the list, "said Michael Riera, author of Uncommon Sense for Parents Wi Tenagers. "This completely changes during the ten years, "Riera e7"They talk to their friends first, then maybe the teachers, and their parents 18. "

Parents who know what's going in their teenagers' lives are in the best position to help them.

To break down the wall of silence, parents should create more c9 to understand what their children want to say, and try to find ways to talk and write to them. Another thing parents should remember is that to be a friend, not a manager, with their children is a better way to know them.

【題目】Future astronauts could travel with emotional support robots

To help astronauts of the future survive(幸免于) the mental(精神的) challenges that come with staying in space for quite a long time, space travelers’ tasks could soon be accompanied(陪伴) by AI-powered, empathetic(有同理心的,同感的) robotic helpers.

Not only does space travel present astronauts with lots of physical stresses, spending months or years in such a physically demanding(要求高的) place with limited space and the same people can also raise many mental tests as well. According to MIT Technology Review, scientists are working to alleviate astronauts from some of the latter challenges by creating “an AI assistant that’s able to feel human emotion and respond(做出反應(yīng)) with empathy.”

While such a technology would prove itself useful by being able to predict the needs of the crew members in space and “intervene(干預(yù)) if their mental health is in danger,” it has the potential to be life-saving when humans choose to explore beyond Earth’s gravitational field(引力場) and towards deep space.

Though astronauts currently on the International Space Station have an intelligent robot to interact with called CIMON, it is short of proper emotional intelligence according to NASA CTO Tom Soderstrom. As a result, a team at the organization’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is working on a more complex(復(fù)雜的) emotional support companion that can control a spacecraft’s functioning in addition to tracking the crew members’ behaviours.

Right now in the lab, an AI-equipped robot called Henry the Helper can be found walking around the grounds assisting visitors who appear confused or lost based on their facial expression. Two more emotionally intelligent robots are expected to be introduced later this year, one of which is said to be able to take part in conversations more complex than giving navigation(導(dǎo)航) assistance.

The team’s final goal is to make a companion named Fiona the Future a reality, an emotionally intelligent cross-platform system. Fiona, if all goes according to the JPL’s plans, will help keep astronauts of the future stay mentally fit as they start their journeys to deep space.

1What does the underlined word alleviate in Paragraph 2 probably mean?

A.面臨B.應(yīng)對C.緩解D.刺激

2According to the passage, which is the biggest challenge astronauts meet in space?

A.Mental health.B.Physical health.C.Food safety.D.Environment.

3Which of the following is NOT true about the future AI helpers?

A.They will be able to know human emotion by feeling.

B.They will be able to control the crew members’ behaviours.

C.They will be able to guess what the crew members want.

D.They will be able to join in the conversations with the crew members.

【題目】 Once upon a time, there was a king. He only had one leg and one eye, but he was very smart and kind. Everyone lived a happy and healthy life because of the king. One day, the king was walking through the palace hallway and saw the paintings of his ancestors(祖先). He thought that one day his children would also walk in the same hallway and remember all the ancestors through these paintings. He wanted his children to remember him, too. So he invited many famous artists to his palace.

All of the artists began to think about the king's physical disabilities. How could his painting be made very beautiful? It was not possible. They weren't sure what his painting would be like. So one by one, they all started to politely refuse to make a painting of the king.

But suddenly one artist raised his hand and said he would make a very nice painting of the king. The king became happy hearing that. Then the artist started painting. After a long time, the painting was ready.

When the artist showed the painting, everyone was shocked. In the painting, the king was sitting on a horse, on the one-leg side, holding his bow(弓箭)and aiming(瞄準(zhǔn))something with his one eye closed. The king was very happy and gave him lots of money.
