【題目】

Would you like to travel space?

It is 2050. Space tourism has become a reality. So would you want to be a space tourist? Here, some middle school students share their opinions.

Jeea, U.K.

I love space very much and would like to be the first teenager to d1 a new planet. Then perhaps it would be named after me. I would become famous around the world!

Emily, U.S.

Space exploration can be dangerous. What should I do if I get l2? I can’t come back to the earth. I am also afraid of heights. It would be very frightening when you look down from a spaceship!

Klaudia, Spain

I would love to go to space because from there I could enjoy a nice v3 of the Earth. The blue oceans and green forests on the Earth must be magnificent. What’s more, I am curious about what life is like without gravity (重力). Perhaps it would be fun to play golf in space!

Edward, U.K.

It would be cool. But how lonely and depressed I would be without a4 around me! I would miss my family. It also requires a large amount of training to become a space tourist, and I don’t think I have time for that. Moreover, I don’t think I can a5 a trip to space. That would definitely cost a lot!

Zainab, South Africa

I’d love to. We studied the solar system in Science classes this semester. I think space is amazing and I desire to know more about it. Unluckily, I have no other way but to search for information about it o6. If I can have the chance to travel to space, I would directly see the things I never see on the Earth.

Ana, U.S.

I would not like to be a space tourist. I respect those who love space tourism. For me, I only want to f7 on what I have on this planet — my family, my school and my pets. I would like to work hard to make progress in what I am doing.

【題目】請閱讀一篇有關(guān)上海垃圾分類的短文, 根據(jù)所提供的信息, 回答問題。

If you are in Shanghai and want to throw a cup of milk tea, be careful. You need to follow these steps: first, pour out any leftover( 殘留物) into a wet waste bin; second, put the paper wrapper into a recyclable waste bin; finally, throw the single-use cup and straw(吸管) into a dry waste bin.

Sound complex( 復(fù) ) You’ll have to get used to it. From July 1st,2019 on, people in Shanghai are required to sort(…..分類) their garbage(垃圾) according to strict rules. Garbage is divided into wet garbage, toxic( )garbage and recyclable garbage. Many other cities in China are planning to create similar sorting rules.

Why should we sort our garbage? The answer lies in the increasing amount of waste we are producing. Chinese cities produce over 200 million tons of waste each year, according to China Economic Net. Most of this waste is buried in landfills, which may pollute water and soil. Moreover, we are running out of space for new landfills.

In fact, more than half of our waste can be recycled. Recyclable garbage can be made into new materials, while wet garbage can be used to make gas, heat and fertilizer(肥料). But in order to recycle efficiently(有效地), we need to sort our garbage.

Can't garbage-processing companies do the sorting job for us? They can. But that requires a lot of work and costs lots of money. Things will become much easier if each of us can sort our own garbage. Besides, the troublesome task of sorting might encourage people to produce less waste. Do you still want to buy that milk tea?

【題目】You Can Make a Windsock(風(fēng)筒)

Have you ever seen a windsock blowing in the wind? Well, you can make one of your own! This is a fun project that you can do with things you may have. You just need to follow a few easy steps.

You will need:

● one piece of heavy colored paper ● five ribbons

● strong tape ● a string

● a pencil

What to do:

Step 1: Draw pictures on the paper. You can write your name on it. Do anything that will make it special to you.

Step 2: Make the paper into the shape of a tube. Hold one of the shorter edges(邊緣) over the other. Then make them together with the tape at each end and in the middle.

Step 3: Use a pencil to make a hole into both sides of the tube. The holes should be only on one end of the tube. Pull the string through both holes. Then tie the ends of the string together.

Step 4: Now make five holes around the top of the other end of the tube. Put a ribbon through each of the holes. Tie a knot in the ends. Make sure the knots are bigger than the holes.

Now your windsock is ready to use, but how does it work? The shape of the tube plays an important part. Wind blows through the tube and makes it fly and dance around. Hold the windsock up in the air by its string and run around. It will fly behind you. You can also hang it outside and watch it dance around on its own!
