【題目】 When we wake up feeling sleepy and with dark circles under eyes, many of us often think "I'm going to go to bed earlier tomorrow!" But however determined (有決心的) we are. Chances are that we don't stick to our promise.
This behavior is called "bedtime procrastination (拖延癥) , and results from lack of (缺乏) self-control and our body clock. Reported Huffpost.
According to a study carried out by a group of health psychologists at Utrecht University in the Netherlands (荷蘭)in 2014, bedtime procrastination is a common problem. "People who generally have trouble fighting against temptations (誘惑) and sticking to their intentions (意圖) are also more likely to delay going to bed, "Floor Kroese, a psychologist at Utrecht University, further explained to HuffPost.
Yet, according to scientists, lack of self-control is not the only thing to blame (責(zé)備) . Our body clock also plays an important role when it comes to bedtime.
In order to check the influence of the body clock on sleep, psychologists at Um University in Germany studied the sleep patterns (模式)of 108 people in February. It was found that those who get up late are more likely to postpone their bedtime than those who wake early every morning.

【題目】 Though times have changed, falling asleep in class is still quite common among teenagers.
Why do students sometimes fall asleep in class? An obvious(顯而易見的) reason is lack(缺少) of sleep. However, there are also causes for getting too little sleep.
Homework is a daily meal for most students, one that can take three to four hours per night. A teenager who wants to be able to take part in any activity besides homework must stay up late to fit everything in. Club activities, sports, computer-game playing, and TV viewing, for example, all lead to teens having less time for both homework and sleep. Sometimes teens lack sleep because of after-school jobs that are taken on to earn extra money for college, family cost, or simply for clothes.
Physical problems are another reason that can cause students to fall asleep in class. For example, insomnia(失眠), which may keep a student up at night, causing exhaustion(疲憊不堪) during class hours, is a serious problem that may require medical attention. Medical research also supports the idea that each person has a body clock that helps to decide his or her sleep pattern. Unluckily, these body clocks do not always work according to school timetables.
The effects of falling asleep in class can be quite serious. First of all, sleeping in class is not a good way to show your respect to teachers. In addition, it is highly possible that other students may make jokes about those who sleep in class. However, the most harmful effect of sleeping in class is missing important points. In the long run, sleepers may end up with failing classes.
Since teens are probably not going to deal with the problem, falling asleep in class will probably remain an all-too-common situation. It will continue until more teens find a way to balance their personal and social lives with school and work, while still finding enough time to sleep.
【1】According to the 1st paragraph, what is the common situation among teenagers?

【題目】 Most bees are brown, hairy and 8 to 22 mm long. Bees live as part of a large family. Over 25,000 kinds of bees have been found. Among all of them, honey bees are the most common.
Honey bees always live in groups called hives(蜂群) Each hive has a queen, drones(雄蜂)and workers(工蜂). Like a human society, each bee in a hive knows its own job.

【題目】閱讀下面的短文,根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容回答問題。
The idea that red means stop and green means go has influenced our lives in more ways than just traffic signals (信號). We have been taught from a young age that the color red means danger and green means it’s okay to move forward. But why were those colors chosen for traffic lights in the first place? For something we have to look at every day, why couldn’t they have been prettier colors?
Well, it’s important to know that before traffic lights for cars, there were traffic signals for trains. At first, railway companies used red to mean stop, white to mean go, and green to mean warn. As you could imagine, trains ran into a few problems with white meaning go. For example, one train mistook a bright star for a white light and something unexpected happened. Because of that, railway companies finally moved green meaning go and used yellow to mean warn. And it’s been that way ever since.
Red has always been a color that mean danger, long before cars were even around. This most likely started because it’s the color with the longest wavelength (波長) so it can be seen somewhere farther than other colors.
But, believe it or not, yellow was once used to mean stop. Back in the 1900s, some stop signs were yellow because it was too hard to see a red sign in a poorly lit area. Finally, highly reflective materials (高反射材料) were developed and red stop signs were born. Since yellow can be seen well at all times of the day, school zones, some traffic signs, and school buses continue to be printed yellow.
So next time you are impatiently waiting at a traffic light, don’t get so mad at them, they’ve certainly come a long way.
Answer the following question with no more than 8 words.
【1】How many colours have been used for traffic signals since the very beginning?
【2】What did one train mistake for a white light?
【3】Did the colour yellow mean go at first?
【4】Why does red mean danger?
【5】When were stop signs yellow?
