1

故選A。

【題目】

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star is a lovely song for children, but it has two misunderstandings (誤解). First, stars aren’t little. Some may be Earth-sized, but most are bigger than Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system (太陽(yáng)系). Second, they don’t twinkle; they shine. And the brightness and color of the light from each star provide information about its temperature, size and even its age. viewing the stars from Earth is a bit like looking at them through a water filter (過(guò)濾器) because the air is thick compared to the emptiness of space. What is more, air is always moving, so starlight appears to be moving, too. The air also makes stars appear dimmer (暗淡的) than they would be if we could see them from space.

If you stop and look at the sky carefully on a dark and moonless night, it’s easy to find color differences among stars. The color of a star is a signal of its surface temperature. The hottest stars are blue, and the next hottest are white. Yellow stars like the sun are next, while red stars are the coolest of the visible (可見(jiàn)的) stars. Many red stars are so dim that people can’t see them at all, and some stars hardly send out any light at all. One reason that stars different in brightness is that hotter stars produce more energy than cooler ones, but another important reason is that some are much bigger than others.

Some stars appear brighter to humans simply because they’re closer. Astronomers rank (排列) the brightness of stars which are seen from Earth by giving them a name known as magnitude (光度) ---the smaller the magnitude, the brighter the object. They have also designed a number that ranks stars according to how bright they are when compared to each other. With a magnitude of minus 26.7, the sun is the brightest object in the sky.

1From the song quite familiar to children, the writer wants to prove that .

A. most stars are smaller than Jupiter

B. Jupiter is bigger and brighter than Earth

C. stars are very large and always shine brightly

D. starlight’s brightness and color are the signs of its temperature

2Magnitude is designed to see .

A. how far a star is from Earth

B. how bright a star is compared to other stars

C. how far a star is from other stars

D. how bright a star is seen from Earth

3Which is the best title of this passage?

A. What do stars look like?

B. Which song do children like best?

C. How to view the stars from Earth?

D. Why are many stars so dim at night?

【題目】

Your Internet experience must be uncomfortable when the net speed is too slow — it takes so long to open a web page and the reality shows you’re watching stops every few minutes. That can make you angry.

But it could be a thing of the past. On June 3, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced that China’s major telecom carriers (電信公司) would start to provide 5G services.

1. What is 5G?

The “G” in “5G” refers to “Generation”. 1G let us talk to each other, 2G let us send messages, 3G gave us mobile data and the Internet, and 4G made all of these things faster. The mobile network technologies are developing quickly.

Now 5G promises much faster data download and upload speeds, and more stable (穩(wěn)定的) connections. This means that you will be able to download a complete HD movie in seconds and only experience a short delay (延遲) between sending and receiving data.

2.What changes will 5G bring us?

With a 5G network, the short delay in information exchange will allow driverless cars to run more safely. Meanwhile, 5G-enabled wearable devices (設(shè)備) will be in use in hospitals. Besides,VR games will become more popular with 5G. The short delay of 5G will make the games feel even more real.

3. Does 5G have any disadvantages?

According to the BBC, though 5G will make our lives more convenient, it will not be perfect. For one thing, 1 . On 4G networks, you can be 10 kilometers away from the nearest transmission base and hardly lose signal (信號(hào)). But 5G will only cover about 300 meters. And in order to use 5G, we will have to buy new products designed for 5G that are expensive at present.

1“G” in “5G” means the generation of________.

A.the mobile network experienceB.the mobile communication technology

C.the speed of data download and uploadD.the delay in data exchange

2According to the passage, the best sentence for the blank is 1 .

A.5G will not “travel” farB.5G will be used in a limited way

C.products designed for 5G is expensiveD.5G has its both advantages and disadvantages

3What is the passage mainly about?

A.Changes in the mobile technologies.B.The uses of 5G.

C.Disadvantages of 5G.D.An introduction to 5G.
