It was a week before I saw Captain Nemo again. Every morning, I noticed fresh air coming into the rooms and I knew that the Nautilus had surfaced I would go out and see the sunrise.
Then I received a note from Captain Nemo. He invited me and my friends to go hunting with him in the forests of Crespo Island. Ned was excited because he thought there he could find a chance to escape. When I saw Captain Nemo the next day, I asked him why he was so interested in Crespo Island. “I thought you preferred the sea to being on land.”
“I do,” replied the Captain. “But these forests are under the sea.” During breakfast, he explained that he had made diving suits ( 潛水服)
that used special air tanks. These tanks would allow us to stay under the water for ten hours. He had also made lights that worked in electric batteries. When Ned realized that we were not going onto land for our hunting trip, he decided not to come at all.
Conseil and I put on our diving suits, and so did Captain Nemo and one of his men. We stepped into a room and closed the door. The room filled with water, and another door opened. We must go through it, and we were in the sea floor. It was an amazing experience.
We were about ten meters under the water. The light from the sun reached us. Everything looked very colorful. We walked over the fine sand and enjoyed the colors of the shells, fish and seaweed. Conseil and I followed Captain Nemo and his man as they crossed a large grassy area. We were going deeper and deeper. Two hours later, we were a hundred meters under the water. The suits worked very well, and it was easy to walk and breathe.
At one hundred meters deep, we could still see quite well, and Captain Nemo stopped and pointed to some dark shapes. This was the forest. The “trees” in the forest were giant seaweed, and all their branches were vertical (垂直的). We could not stop looking at them. Fish swam around the branches like birds in a forest. Small shrubs ( 灌 木 ) grew under the large seaweed trees. Some of them had flowers.
We walked through this forest for about an hour, and then we lay down to rest. I was not hungry, but I was very sleepy. We all slept, and when we woke up, we walked further.

根據(jù)第一段“It was a week before I saw Captain Nemo again.
I knew that the Nautilus had surfaced”—— 一周后我又見到了尼莫船長(zhǎng)。我知道the Nautilus已經(jīng)浮出水面;從Captain Nemo 這個(gè)人的頭銜“船長(zhǎng)”和“浮出水面”,推斷the Nautilus是水下的一種船,故選A 。
根據(jù)第三段“When Ned realized that we were not going onto land for our hunting trip, he decided not to come at all.”
根據(jù)第一段“Then I received a note from Captain Nemo. He invited me and my friends to go hunting with him in the forests of Crespo Island. ”—— 可知尼莫船長(zhǎng)邀請(qǐng)一些人去打獵;根據(jù)第三段“During breakfast, he explained that he had made diving suits ( 潛水服)that used special air tanks.”—— 可知尼莫船長(zhǎng)制作了潛水服和照明燈;根據(jù)第五段“Conseil and I followed Captain Nemo and his man as they crossed a large grassy area.”—— 可知他們跨過一大片長(zhǎng)草的地方;根據(jù)第六段“This was the forest. The “trees” in the forest were giant seaweed, and all their branches were vertical (垂直的). Fish swam around the branches like birds in a forest. Small shrubs ( 灌 木 ) grew under the large seaweed trees. Some of them had flowers.”—— 可知他們觀賞這片森林的景色,有巨型海藻、魚、灌木等; 根據(jù)最后一段“We all slept, and when we woke up, we walked further.”——可知他們睡著了,醒后繼續(xù)往深處走;按情節(jié)的發(fā)展,故選D。
根據(jù)第二段“He invited me and my friends to go hunting with him in the forests of Crespo Island. Ned was excited because he thought there he could find a chance to escape”—可知Ned是我的朋友,不是船長(zhǎng)的朋友,所以A表達(dá)錯(cuò)誤;根據(jù)第四段“Conseil and I put on our diving suits, and so did Captain Nemo and one of his men” ——可知總有Conseil 、 I、Captain Nemo、one of his men 4人加入這次的旅途,所以C表達(dá)錯(cuò)誤;根據(jù)最后一段“We walked through this forest for about an hour,”—— 可知他們花大約一小時(shí)走過這片森林,所以D表達(dá)錯(cuò)誤;根據(jù)第二段“I thought you preferred the sea to being on land.”—— 從船長(zhǎng)的話可知我更喜歡海洋,所以推斷作者很喜歡這次的旅行,所以B表達(dá)正確;故選B。
根據(jù)書名—— Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The sea,可知本篇節(jié)選自科幻小說《海底2萬里》,故選C。

Tim Berners-Lee is not the most famous inventor in the world. However, his invention has changed our lives.
He was born in London, England in 1955. When he was a small boy, Tim was interested in playing with electrical things. He studied science at Oxford University. He made his first computer from an old television at the age of 21.
Tim started working on early computers. At that time, they were much bigger than now. He worked in England then Switzerland. Tim was really interested in two things, computers and how the brain works. How could the brain connect so many facts so quickly? He had to work with people all over the world. They shared information about computers. It was hard to manage all the information. He answered the same questions again and again, and it took much time. It was even difficult for computers in the same office in Switzerland to share information. Tim also forgot things easily. Could a computer work like a brain? Could it “talk” to other computers?
There was an Internet already but it was difficult to use. In 1989, Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web (WWW) all by himself. This had a special language that helped computers talk to each other on the Internet. When people wanted to share information with others, they used the World Wide Web. The Internet grew quickly after that.
Tim Berners-Lee doesn’t think he did anything special. He says that all of the ideas about the Internet were already there. All he did was to put them together. He says that many other people worked together to make the Internet what it is today.
Most inventors want to become rich. But Tim gave away the World Wide Web for nothing. He now works in America. He helps people share technology and wants the Internet to be free for everyone to use. Maybe he is the most important but least famous inventor in the world today!

A.He is not famous because he is not rich.
B.He has changed our lives and he is great.
C.He did nothing special but make people a good life.
