【題目】 Every year on 15th October, over 200 million people around the world take part in Global Handwashing Day. But why do we have a day for something we do all the time? Well, research shows that not enough people often wash their hands with soap. Experts believe that this leads to the deaths of millions of people every year.

Sidibe, a public health expert says soap is the most beautiful invention in public health'. Washing your hands with soap can have a huge impact on reducing (減少) the spread of diseases. Handwashing with soap prevents babies from getting ill and keeps children healthy and in school.

However, washing hands with soap does not happen as often as you might think. 【題目】 Coffee is a necessary part of Italian culture and since arriving here over six months ago, I have definitely drunk a lot of it!

Of course, coffee is also very popular in the UK but coffee culture in Italy is a completely different story. In Italy, when you order a coffee in a cafe or a bar, you are presented with a tiny, bitter espresso(蒸餾咖啡). This is "normal coffee" for Italians and they are not so interested in the huge coffees that we drink in the UK. In addition, while take-away coffee is extremely popular among Englishmen, it is not very common at all in Italy especially in non-touristy areas. Generally, Italians prefer to drink their tiny coffees while standing at the bar and, for many, this short break is an important part of their day.

Typically, breakfast at a bar in Italy includes a coffee and a pastry(油酥糕點(diǎn)). I have been spoiled for choice with lovely cafes in the Italian town I'm living in these cafes sell a series of mouth-watering pastries-either plain or filled with cream, chocolate, jam or Nutella-as well as delicious coffee. Cappuccinos are very popular at breakfast time and, for me, a creamy cappuccino and a pastry is the perfect way to start the day. I think it's a nice way to head to bar to buy a coffee and a pastry for breakfast before working and it's relaxing to take more time to enjoy such breakfast at the weekend.

Finally, I have found that coffee in Italy is so much cheaper than coffee in the UK. Of course, this means that in Italy it is possible to go out for coffee regularly without breaking the bank.

1Which of the following do Italians like better?

A.Takeaway coffees.B.Huge coffees.

C.Creamy coffees.D.Tiny, bitter coffees

2What does the word "they" in Paragraph 2 refer to?

A.Italians.B.Britons.C.Coffees.D.Cafes.

3Why can the writer often go out for coffee in Italy?

A.Because coffee is a part of Italian culture.B.Because there are so many cafes or bars.

C.Because Italian pastries are very delicious.D.Because Italian coffee is very cheap.

Our grandparents seem to have magic powers sometimes. Give them a Chinese lunar calendar, and they will know what weather will be like days or even months later.

1 They are following the 24 Solar Terms(節(jié)氣), which is an important part of Chinese culture. And on Nov. 30th, 2016, the United Nations (UNadded it to the List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity(人類非物質(zhì)文化遺產(chǎn)).

The 24 Solar terms came into being during the Qin 211-206BC and Han 206BC-AD220 dynasties. 2 So, weather changes were important. But of course, they had no satellite, Internet or weather broadcast to help them.

3 They studied the sun’s movement with a sundial(日冕儀).They also paid attention to other natural changes such as temperature, water and crops growth. In the end, they worked out the 24 Solar terms to mark the changes.

4 For example, the solar terms jingzhe(驚蟄)is when insects wake up from a long sleep in the cold winter. Farmers take it as a sign of warm weather and get busy working.

The 24 Solar Terms is honored as China’s fifth great invention, after papennaking, printing, the compass and gunpowder.5 For example, people will say, “Do not show your feet after Hanlu(寒露).” Why? It’s because the solar term “Hanlu” marks the coming of the cold days.

A.Now, people still use the solar terms in daily life,

B.But people found a way.

C.The terms became their guide to farming work.

D.What’s the secret?

E.At the time, most Chinese people made their living on farms.
