Madison Glinski from the U. K. made a New Year's resolution to help poor children last year. She planned to try and raise 500 pounds for a local children's hospice before Christmas. Every day after school, Madison played the violin in front of a coffee shop. She played so well that many people stopped to enjoy her performance. Since she began playing the violin in the street at Easter, she had raised a surprising 32, 520 pounds by the end of the year. She also raised money by selling her own toys.
Madison's mother supported her daughter's idea. She said. “Madison has a musical talent. She has played the violin since the age of four. I am glad that she has used it to help others. She has a special interest for it.”
It is not the first time for Madison to help others. A few years ago, Madison asked her parents if they could all go to Africa at Christmas to help the children there. She collected toys, shoes, school things and clothes from her friends and neighbors to take to Africa. They had a special Christmas win the children in Africa. During the years of game making, there have been a number of games. Many old games have gone since modern games came out.
Teachers at a primary school asked their students to write articles about games they knew and were surprised by the results. Half of the 50 children in one of the classes wrote about online games. It is easy to see that traditional games like hide-and-seek and jump rope games are unfamiliar(不熟悉的) to many of today's schoolchildren. They like to play computer games, especially in the cities, with the rising popularity of TV, the Internet, video and online games.
An educationist said, "Traditional games used to be so popular, but over just a few years, kids have forgotten them. It's sad."
The games that many parents once played were generally outdoor activities which were enjoyed by students during breaks or after school. They usually needed several partners and just a little space.
Jump rope games, for example, have always been popular in many countries around the world. A kind of jump rope game, played with rubber bands(橡皮筋) which are connected together to make a long rope, is played in many countries.
Rubber band jumping was once very popular in primary schools. Girls loved playing this game. It can help kids practise their jumping skills and develop coordination(協(xié)調(diào)性), and also help them meet lots of friends.
It is common these days to see primary school students spending their breaks in the classroom. They are busy with their studies.
"When we were young, we played many different outdoor games, but today's children don't know what to play or how to play," a 40-year-old mother said. "They don't know what teamwork is."
Being worried by the situation, educational officers have tried to make some programmes to educate children on traditional games.

Former Apple CEO Steve Jobs Passed Away
Steve Jobs, the founder and former CEO of Apple, died on October 5 at the age of 56. Jobs had been fighting with cancer since 2004. In August 2011, he quit as CEO.
When asked what Steve Jobs is best remembered for, many of us would name a particular product: the iPod, the iPhone or the iPad, for example. But in the eyes of Eric Jackson, a reporter with Forbes magazine, Jobs brought much more to the world than these popular devices. Some of the lessons he taught us were equally inspiring.
Jobs taught us how to face failure. He was fired by the successor(繼任者)he himself chose. Despite this, Jobs didn't hide away. He picked himself up and continued to follow his passion.
Another valuable lesson he taught us was to listen to that voice in the back of your head — the voice that tells you if you’re on the right track or not. Most of us simply decide that we’re going to work in finance or become a doctor because our parents tell us this is what we should do. But Jobs believed and showed that it is wise to listen to that voice in your head, whatever it is telling you to do.”Steve was among the greatest American innovators— brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it.” Said the US President Barack Obama.
