Yangshuo is an amazing riverside town near Guilin in Guangxi. There are plenty of things you can do in Yangshuo. I spent almost a week in the pretty town enjoying its beautiful views.

On my last day, I walked along the streets in the old town. As I was walking by the river. I saw a small group of elderly people playing cards, singing and chatting around a table. They were excited to meet me ,a foreign visitor, and filled my hands with a cup of green tea, peanuts（花生）and biscuits.

When they failed to communicate with me in Chinese, they took out their pen and paper and wrote down what they wanted to say in Chinese characters, but I still couldn’t understand them. Finally, we turned to a special language we all understood—music.

They took out their Chinese songbook and started singing to me. I laughed and tried to sing together with them, and I was sure my singing in Chinese sounded funny to them, but they enjoyed it and so did I. My singing style finally got lots of praise and laughter. At last, they were really sad when I had to say goodbye to them.
