When you are in Hong Kong, you must be very careful in the streets because the traffic drives on the left. It is different from that in other areas of China. If you are first time to come to Hong Kong, you must look to the right side and then the left before you cross the street.
If the traffic lights are green, the traffic can go, but people on foot mustn’t cross. They can go across the street when the traffic lights are red.
When people go to or come from work in the morning and evening, the streets are very busy. Traffic is the most dangerous then, especially for the children.
When you go by bus in Hong Kong, you have to be careful, too. You must always remember the traffic moves on the left. So you must be careful. Have a look first, or you will go the wrong way.
In Hong Kong, there are many big buses with two floor, and you can sit on the second floor.
From there you can see the view of the whole city well. It’s very interesting.

【5】The Traffic in Hong Kong
根據(jù)第一段第一句“because the traffic drives on the left”可知香港的交通靠左行駛,所以在大街上要格外小心。 Because the traffic drives on the left.
根據(jù)第一段最后一句“you must look to the right side and then the left before you cross the street”可知在過馬路之前你需要先看右邊再看左邊。 We must look to the right side and then the left before we cross the street.
根據(jù)第二段“They can go across the street when the traffic lights are red”可知當交通燈是紅色的時候,步行的人可以過馬路。 They can go across the street.
倒數(shù)第二段劃線的句子“In Hong Kong, there are many big buses with two floor, and you can sit on the second floor ”是一個“there be”的句型,“and”前后的句子是并列關(guān)系;句子介紹香港的雙層巴士。
文中出現(xiàn)頻率較高的關(guān)鍵詞是“traffic”;根據(jù)首句“When you are in Hong Kong, you must be very careful in the streets because the traffic drives on the left”可知話題是關(guān)于香港的交通,因為交通是靠左行駛所以需要注意安全。 The Traffic in Hong Kong。 The Traffic in Hong Kong.

We usually see ancient plants or insects in amber(琥珀). But recently, a group of researchers found something unusual in amber — a feathered tail!
The tail includes bones, soft tissue and even feathers. It is 37 mm long, which is about the length of a matchstick. It looks like a plant at first sight. But researchers later identified(確定) it as part of the tail of a dinosaur that couldn’t fly almost 100 million years ago.
Xing Lida of Beijing’s China University of Geosciences discovered the amber in a market in Myanmar in 2015. “It is an amazing fossil(化石) and the finest details of feathers can be seen in 3-D.” he said.
The researchers note in their paper that this finding is particularly special because, although dinosaur feathers have been found in amber before, we don’t know which dinosaurs they came from. But this time researchers know more.
The tail is likely to belong to a tiny dinosaur called coelurosaur. Famous coelurosaurs include the T-rex(霸王龍) and Velociraptor(迅猛龍) — the latter of which would finally evolve into birds.
So with the “once in a lifetime” finding, can we hope for the possibility of a real Jurassic Park In the movie series, scientists bring dinosaurs back to life by getting their DNA from blood found in amber.
But Canadian scientist Ryan Mckellar said that although soft tissue and blood of the tail were found in the amber, no genetic material was kept. “The Jurassic Park answer is still a ‘no’ — this is in the science fiction.” he said.
【1】What do you know about the amber?

Adding to the madness of the 2016 US presidential election is American lawyer(律師) Andrew Basiago. He says he has traveled through time nearly all his life, and is pretty sure that he’s going to become “either president or vice(副) president” between 2016 and 2028. Polling data(民意測評) is obviously useless to this guy.
Basiago’s greatest qualification(條件) to hold office, of course, is his first-hand information of past and future events. Basiago claims to have gone back in time to 1863 and witnessed Abraham Lincoln’s speech at Gettysburg. He’s also been to the future — the year 2054 — so he has an idea of the pitfalls(缺陷) that a president should be avoiding. Having traveled widely in time, Basiago has held conversations with President Bush, President Clinton, and President Obama decades before they were elected to office, telling them in advance of their presidencies. More importantly, he has been to Mars in 1981, which makes for rich experience in foreign relations.
【1】What is Andrew Basiago sure to become between 2016 and 2028?
___________________________________________________________
【2】What is almost useless to Basiago in his eyes?
___________________________________________________________
【3】What did Basiago witness when he went back in time to 1863?
