【題目】 It has long been considered one of the best companies, but do you have what it takes to work for Google?

It may take a sharp mind, as an American author says that the search engine giant (搜索引擎巨人) asks its interviewees to answer difficult question.

William Poundstone believes that he has unlocked the secret of how to succeed in an interview at Google in a new book, Are You Smart Enough to Work at Google?

Poundstone lists several of the brain teasers (腦筋急轉(zhuǎn)彎) that are said to be used by Google interviewers, from “can you swim faster in water or in syrup (糖漿)?” to “how would you weigh your head?”

Poundstone told ABC News that any Google’s questions are open-ended on purpose. The interviewer’s goal is to see how the thinking process of the applicant (應(yīng)聘者) works, and to test his or her creativity when solving problems. He suggests the applicant should “retell the question” in their own words, as doing so gives them time to think and makes sure that they understand what is being asked.

Some of Google’s brain teasers:

* Why are manhole covers (下水道井蓋) round?

* How much toilet paper would you need to cover Texas?

* You are shrunk (縮小) to the height of a nickel (五分硬幣) and thrown in a blender (攪拌機).

The blades (刀片) start moving in 60 seconds. What do you do?

* How much should you charge (開價) to wash all the windows in Seattle?

* How many times a day do a clock’s hands overlap (重疊)?

A.A strong body.B.Hard work.C.A sharp mind.D.An open heart.

A.How to test whether you are a smart person.

B.How to get a job in Google successfully.

D.How to take part in interview training.

4Why are Google’s questions open-ended?

A.To see the solving process the applicant uses.

5What’s the best title for the passage?

A.Are you smart enough to work at Google?

【題目】 If wearing Google Glass- a pair of smart glasses—on your face isn’t cool enough, you might want to take a look at Nokia’s new skirt. It’s made of 80 mobile phones! It’s believed to be the world’s first smart skirt and has been shown at London Fashion (時裝)Week. The smart skirt was created by the mobile phone company Nokia, fashion designer(設(shè)計師) Fyodor Golan and creative design house Kin.

It’s not easy to make a smart skirt. It took three months to complete it. The biggest challenge in making the skirt was getting all of the mobile phones on the skirt, and allowing all the mobile phones to work together. The screens are all connected to a computer. As the skirt moves, the screens change color and the skirt looks like silk. That’s not the only trick. The mobile phones are also connected to a hidden camera in the wearer’s hat. The screens can show what the wearer is seeing.

Unsurprisingly, the skirt won’t be making its way to shops. Instead, it’s more of an art piece. Nokia said they wanted to find a way to connect the smart technology and fashion together. “We used drawings, 3D printing, and programming languages to ‘build’the skirt, ” explained Nokia.
