　　Dear Brenda,

　　I have just come back from France. It was the first time I had ever been there. We spent one day at Disneyland Park. We all had a good time there as it is a very exciting place. I've got lots of news to tell you.

　　When we arrived in Paris, my brother John was very excited. He wanted to go straight into the park, but my mother told him that he would have to wait until we had to check into the hotel.

　　About an hour later, we bought some tickets and John and I ran into the park. We got on a streetcar. It took us along a road called Main Street USA. The street is like an old American street with old-fashioned shops. Next we went to Adventureland. We went to see the Swiss Family Robinson who were having a picnic in their tree house. Before long, we were all hungry so we had lunch in a lovely American restaurant. The food was very delicious.

　　After that we went to Fantasyland. I thought it was great. It was my favorite part of the park. I talked with Alice and had tea and cakes. John went to see Sleeping Beauty's castle in the hope of seeing Sleeping Beauty. Unluckily, she was sleeping so he wasn't able to see her.

　　We decided to go to Discoveryland next. On our way we saw Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. They are well-known cartoon characters. They were very big. They were much bigger than I had thought. It was late in the afternoon, but we thought we had just enough time to visit Discoveryland when John found he had lost a button from his shirt. We looked everywhere for the button, but we couldn't find it. When we arrived at the entrance to Discoveryland, there was a big sign on the gate that read “CLOSED”. We were too late. We were disappointed, but I agreed we had had a wonderful time.

針挑土（芳菲）
從湘西回來，和朋友們說起黑妮；說起在鳳凰的偶遇，說起跟她去苗寨跑了一天，看她做的種種事，感慨得很；說想起一句記不全的俗語，“什么什么像針挑土，什么什么像水推沙”，黑妮就是在針挑土；黑妮！黑妮……
一說起黑妮，腦子里一邊浮現她樸素清瘦的樣子，不知為什么有隱隱的心疼。鳳凰是她的故鄉(xiāng)，但和我們這些外人在一起，倒是她有幾分害羞靦腆。黑妮如今工作、居住在意大利，做湘西扶貧工作的時間不短了。最初是一幫一地助學，先后幫了幾十個孩子。前些年申請到一筆經費，設計了“湘援游”這個項目。如今每年都會回來幾趟，帶來游人，帶來捐款；關鍵是，耐心地、苦口婆心地，教苗族婦女如何保存她們優(yōu)美的刺繡藝術。“負責任的旅游”，聽黑妮說，這一旅游概念正在歐洲興起，它強調旅行者對目的地生存和文化的責任，在旅游資費中，捐出一部分作為扶持當地可持續(xù)發(fā)展的基金。
黑妮就在其中做穿針引線的工作。
她在大山里找出苗族傳統(tǒng)文化仍保持良好的村寨，從房屋構造、村寨形態(tài)、人倫禮儀……最后落實到婦女們的苗繡——這是可以直接帶來經濟效益的活計。傳統(tǒng)苗繡繽紛五彩，靈動有情，但如今在慢慢地退化、消失，機器繡品在泛濫。黑妮，就要跟她們一遍遍地講，什么是好，什么是不好，不要跟著外面轉，要相信你們的祖母和母親，看著眼前的山水，懷著美好的心愿，做自己創(chuàng)造性的苗繡。
那天，我們上午去的是老家寨，一路顛簸，開了一個多小時，我已經在揪著心開始暈車了。最后步行20分鐘進寨。在山間步行其實是美好的，暖暖的冬陽，彎彎曲曲鑲嵌在田野中的蠻石路，清新的空氣，收割干凈的田野……老家寨的婦女已得知黑妮要來，身著節(jié)日服裝的她們已經聚集等候，先用快樂的迎客歌在院子里歡迎，然后進屋拿出各自的繡品，等黑妮來評判。
看樣子情況不樂觀。黑妮沒有面露喜色，也沒有慍色。她還是那么一字一句、認真地批評她們：“這個不好，一看就是跟機器學的�！薄斑@個線不好，要用棉線。我們這次帶了些來�！薄�
黑妮，你這是在做什么？我站在院子里看著這一幕情景，有點發(fā)懵。她從那么遠跑來,又跑了這么久的山路,就是想通過幾句溫和的話塑造她們對美和丑的觀念嗎?堂屋壁板上貼滿各種畫片,是這個家的裝飾墻,也好似所有外來影響的象征:正中一張有些陳舊的毛主席像,把一個更陳舊的大紅雙喜字貼去了一大半,左邊是海南風光照,右邊是明星李小龍的赤身拳照,兩個胖娃娃圖片,一幅小小的西洋畫《泉》。
下午去另一個苗寨，又是近兩小時車程�！斑@一個繡得比較好，就是村寨的形態(tài)不如老家寨，建了些新房。”黑妮對一個個目的地都很了解。等到回程，太陽已經有倦容了。
晚上我們在沱江邊吉夫開的咖啡館休息聊天。吉夫是湘援游志愿者，今天一路一直是他提著大包的棉線。黑妮的湘援游，就是靠這些當地的志愿者，不取一毫地付出，才運作起來。今天開車的“李萬通”，也有自己的公司。
咖啡館的壁掛上有一個插頁，取下一看，是鳳凰手繪地圖，封面圖案取自傳統(tǒng)苗繡，那五彩靈動的喜鵲，我看得呆了一下，原來這樣好。地圖10元一份，買下可算對湘援游的支持，還可得一枚徽章作獎勵。我想了想，紅著臉買了四份，說回去送朋友。素靜的黑妮眼睛亮了。老天！
這有什么用！我心里說。
有沒有用，真不知道，但我忘不掉他們。我查了針挑土的俗語，原來是這樣說的：“成家好似針挑土，敗家好似水推沙”，“賺錢好似針挑土，花錢好似水推沙”，一下把我的心挑亮了！既然世世代代，要成就一件事都這樣難，從來就這樣難，那么，以難易成敗來衡量黑妮們的行為，有什么意義呢？且寫下這一短文，送上對她的祝福吧。
