【題目】 For the most part of my life, I have lived in a small town in northern Arizona. As I got older, it seemed as if my town got smaller.
All things I could see in the town were bad. It looked ugly, small and was filled with terrible people. I wanted to be in new places with bigger chances and to meet new people. That was exactly what I did. I moved to the city of Phoenix to go to college and worked hard to achieve what I had dreamed of.
For the first year when I was away from home, I wanted to stay away and never go back. When people were taking a trip to my hometown, I would always question “Why would you like to do that? It’s so ugly.” All I had towards my hometown was negative feelings.
However, after being away for about three years, my perspective has completely changed. I have nothing but love for my hometown — its beauty, and the sentimental value (感情價值) that it holds.
After all, it’s where I’m from. Yes, there are bad things, but there are also some good ones: Dad raced the train on the way to school; Mum let us stop for ice cream every Friday after school to celebrate the end of the week; I walked around downtown with friends in high school, thinking we were cool.
It might take being away from something for you to truly appreciate it. It’s true when people say that distance makes the heart grow fonder(溫柔的). Now I visit my hometown every chance I get. Even if I am no longer living there, it will always hold a piece of my heart.

【題目】 Muriel’s home was a pleasant three-bedroomed house in a suburb(郊區(qū)) of Manchester. The family, made up of two girls and a boy, had been raised there. One had already left home, and the day was not far off when the other two would leave for London and the start of their careers.
The house now lacked for nothing. The expensive days schooling and providing for a growing family were over. The husband’s salary as an engineer provided holidays in Spain, a-year-old family car, a colour television (not rented now, thanks to a bargain offer in a January sale).
Life was good until Muriel, returning from shopping in the city centre, found she had been burgled. It was bad enough that the windows in the dining-room had been forced open and $20 in cash in the kitchen drawer stolen, but the damage aged Muriel immediately.

【題目】 One of the main purposes of traveling is to relax and take a break from your normal daily life. Whatever the truth is, we’re not always free to do what we like when traveling to a foreign country, and a US tourist learned that the hard way.
On Aug 12, the unnamed 4l-year-old man was beaten by a passer-by after he was seen giving Nazi salutes(納粹禮) again and again on a street in Dresden, Germany.
Ever since the end of World War II, Germany has had strict laws to forbid the Nazi salute, as well as other symbols of Nazism.
In fact, most countries have their own taboos. If you plan to travel overseas, it's best to get familiar with these taboos before you start touring local sites. The following are some examples.
Singapore
You can get fined for a lot of things in Singapore, including feeding birds, spitting, urinating in public, smoking in public, not flushing a public toilet after you use it, and eating or drinking on buses or trains.
Japan
You're not supposed to wear your shoes in someone’s house, but you're not supposed to take your shoes off outside the house either. Instead, there's a small area inside the door called a “genkan” which is where your shoes should go. If you're still not sure where that is, pay attention to what other people do and do the same.
France
French people don't like it when you talk about money. It's OK if you say that you want to quit a job because you are paid little money, but you should never say the exact amount. Money is a “dirty” topic in France.
【1】When traveling abroad, we can’t ________.
A.relax and take a break from normal daily life
B.follow what other people do and do the same

【題目】 “Budda(佛)-like youngsters” has become the buzzwords online overnight. What is “Budda-like”?Actually,it has nothing to do with Buddhism. It's only an attitude towards life. It means one should neither be pleased by outside gains nor be saddened by personal losses. Besides, it guides a lifestyle that “it's fine to have something or not.”
The youngsters are in their 20s. Although they haven’t developed themselves into the “God” , they've learned how to live a comfortable life. The green post-90s have mixed feelings to face the unknown future. They think that they are“Budda-like youngsters” and try to let everything go. We are living at a fast-developing time. If we have a strong sense of competitions, we will be overtaken in grades, education backgrounds, scores, jobs and will be overtaken in our kids grades, education backgrounds, and jobs... “Budda-like” youngsters keep a casual and calm attitude towards life and get rid of the so-called “fear”. It's not that they refuse to make progress but that the pain from efforts overwhelms (壓倒) the joy from gain. So, they stop considering struggle (奮 斗) as the most important part or even the only aim in life as their parents did. Gradually, “Budda-like” becomes the weapon (武器)for the youngsters to fight against the society that doesn’t belong to them.

B.shows the meaning of the words "Budda-likc youngsters

A.They want to find or win anything they want.
B.They continue regarding struggle as one aim in life.
C.They don’t mind whether they have something or not.
D.They have a strong sense of competitions in many ways.
【3】Why do some post-90s become the Budda-like youngsters?
A.Because they want to get the joy form the gain
B.Because they really refuse to make any progress.
C.Because it's their way to fight against the so-calle fear.
