It is needless to say that friendship plays an important role in our lives. Mary has been my best friend for six years. I will never forget how we became friends.

Once, when I was in English class, I was upset because my group wasn’t able to finish our work and I felt like I had to take responsibility for it. It was Mary who taught me that I should try to learn from my mistakes and communicate with others. Her words inspired me.

After that, I would often chat with her in my free time and we gradually became friends. As I got to know her better, I learned that we shared many hobbies, including reading and playing computer games. However, I think Mary is smarter than me. She often challenges my views and gives me good suggestions. I hope I can learn more from her in the future.
