【題目】 Now more and more people buy and sell things on the Internet. They buy and sell goods to make money. So hackers(黑客) around the world are interested in this.
Hackers are often young people who love computers greatly. They use computers to get on the Internet, looking for ways to go into computer systems run by banks, homes and all kinds of offices. If they go into a computer system, they will find other people's credit cards and try to steal the numbers. With the numbers they can take the money out of the bank.

【題目】 When the great library of Alexandria (亞歷山大圖書館) burned, the story goes, one book was saved. But it was not a valuable book, and so a poor man, who could read a little, bought it for very little money.
The book wasn't very interesting, but between its pages there was something very interesting indeed. Itwas a thin strip of animal skin on which was written the secret of the“Touchstone (試金石)”! The touchstone was asmall pebble (鵝卵石) that could turn any common metal into pure gold.
The writing explained that it was lying among thousands and thousands of other pebbles that looked exactly like it. But the secret was this: The real stone would feel warm, while common pebbles were cold.
So the man sold his few belongings, bought some simple supplies, camped on the seashore, and began testing pebbles. He knew that if he picked up common pebbles and threw them down again because they were cold, he might pick up the same pebble hundreds of times. So, when he felt one that was cold, he threw it into the sea. He spent a whole day doing this but none of them was the touchstone. Yet he went on and on this way. Pick up a pebble. Cold—throw it into the sea. Pick up another. Throw it into the sea. The days continued overa long period of time.
One day, however, about mid-afternoon, he picked up a pebble and it was warm. He threw it into the seabefore he realized what he had done. He had formed such a strong habit of throwing each pebble into the seathat when the one he wanted came along, he still threw it away.
So it is with opportunity (機(jī)會(huì)). Unless we are cautious (小心的,謹(jǐn)慎的), it's easy to fail to recognize(識(shí)別) an opportunity when it is in hand and it's just as easy to throw it away.
【1】According to the story, the touchstone_______.
A.is a big pebbleB.feels coldC.is magicD.is pure gold
【2】The man threw pebbles into the sea_______.
A.to test how far he could throwB.to practice throwing pebbles
C.to avoid picking up the same pebbleD.to express his disappointment
【3】What message does the story want to express?
A.Good habits can lead to success.
B.Habits can only hold you back.
C.Opportunity prefers slow but strong mind.
D.Opportunity only visits the ready and cautious mind.

Bill Gates is head of the software company Microsoft and one of the world’s richest men. He was born on October 28, 1955 and grew up in Seattle with his two sisters. He was a very bright boy. Science and math were his two favorite subjects at school. And he dreamed of being a scientist.
Bill first started to play on computers at the age of 13. At that time, a computer was a very large machine. Once he was interested in a very old computer. In 1973, Bill went to Harvard University. In 1975, Bill and his partners developed a software program called BASIC. This was not the first program ever created, but its inventors were the first to decide that people who wanted to use it should pay for it. BASIC was a success. Then Bill left Harvard to work for Microsoft, a company he started in 1975 with his boyhood friend Paul Allen. They thought the computer would come into every office and every home soon. So they began developing software for personal computers. They improved the software to make it easier for people to use computers. After many years of hard work, Microsoft becomes one of the most successful companies. And Bill Gates also becomes one of the richest businessmen in the world.
