那兩年,逢年過節(jié),養(yǎng)魚的蔡婆總要給我家送幾條新鮮的魚來。我有點討厭父親,集市上什么魚都有,為什么父親偏偏喜歡蔡婆的魚呢? 我問蔡婆,你咋知道我爸爸喜歡吃你家的魚哩?蔡婆說,你爸爸呀,是個饞貓,為了吃我的魚,每天晚上敲我的門。父親真沒出息。
父親在鎮(zhèn)里的一家工廠上班,兩班倒。但父親很少上白班。父親每天晚上從鎮(zhèn)里回來,要翻過一面坡,再翻過一面坡,七八里路,上坡下梁地要走半天。就在那兩面坡中間,有一塊洼地,蔡婆的魚塘就在那里。
父親說,蔡婆不容易。蔡婆那個做生意的丈夫卷走了家里的所有積蓄,扔下三個孩子跑了。為了養(yǎng)家糊口,蔡婆包了山洼里的魚塘,并在魚塘旁蓋了間簡陋的土房子。然后,把孩子扔給老人,一年四季,蓬頭垢面地照看著她的魚塘。每天晚上,父親下夜班,騎車路過那魚塘的時候,總要去敲敲她的門。嘟——,嘟嘟——,舅奶,睡了沒有?屋子里亮著油燈,蔡婆還沒睡。她便喚父親進去,有一搭沒一搭地說幾句話,然后,父親才走。有時候,父親下夜班很晚,蔡婆屋子里的油燈早已熄滅了,但父親依然要去敲敲蔡婆的門。聽著屋里的蔡婆在睡夢中含混地應(yīng)了,父親才走。

你奶奶是生你五叔的時候,難產(chǎn)死的。你爺爺受不了這個打擊,想不開,幾次想尋短見。村里有一個叫楊有貴的人,就經(jīng)常來勸他,說,為了孩子們,你也得活下去啊。但你爺爺還是不能從悲傷中走出來。那一段日子,每天晚上,楊有貴都要來咱家坐坐,或者拉家常,或者聊東說西。即便真的沒話說了,也要干坐著,一直待到很晚才走。
你爺爺后來說,如果沒有楊有貴這個人,如果沒有他每晚來陪著坐一陣子,也許,咱們家就沒有今天。所以,你爺爺臨去世的時候,語重心長地和我說,伸出手來可以扶人,拿出錢來可以幫人,人在遭難的時候,就是有人陪著說說話,也是能救人的。
爸爸深深記住了爺爺說的這句話。那幾年,蔡婆不容易,爸爸想幫幫她。于是,每天晚上去敲敲她的門,就是想讓她知道,                                            。
