	Ted is learning how to swim. He takes swimming lessons at the community pool every Monday and Wednesday afternoon. Before he started taking swimming lessons, Ted did not know how to swim at all. In fact, he was a little afraid of the water. Now, Ted enjoys swimming. So far, he has learned three styles of swimming.
	Tom favors running. He took part in a race yesterday. He knelt down at the starting line with the other runners. He looked ahead to the finish line, ready to run the race of his life. Suddenly, Tom heard the sound of the starting gun. He pushed off from the ground and began to run and he moved his legs as fast as he could. As he neared the finish line, Tom used a final burst of energy to race ahead of the other runners. Tom had won the race!
	Jane's favorite sport is snow skiing. She wears boots, gloves and a skiing jacket to stay warm in the cold weather. She holds a pole in each hand which helps her balance and turn. She enjoys gliding down bright white hills and then riding ski lifts back to the top. Every winter, she spends most her free time skiing with her friend Mary.
