When you are watching TV, you will notice that more and more famous stars make the ads on TV. Many people believe them because they are famous. But have you ever thought if the ads are real or not?
In the past few years, lots of stars have been on TV or newspapers as spokesmen(代言人) of some products(產(chǎn)品), such as Sanlu Milk and Haojixing Study Machine. People spent much money on these products, but at last, many of them were not like what the stars said. More and more people are very angry with the famous actors for making the ads after the accident of Sanlu Children Milk.
What are the public’s ideas about the famous people making ads on TV? Do you agree that the famous people should take responsibility (負(fù)責(zé)任) if the products have any problems? A research shows that about 36% think it wasn’t the famous stars’ fault(過(guò)錯(cuò)),but they all think famous stars should give out the money they got from the ads or the charity(慈善機(jī)構(gòu)). More than 34% think the famous stars must take responsibility. They are dishonest and lose themselves in the public.
So we should be more careful when we buy things advertised by the stars. We must find what these things are really like instead of only listening to what the stars say.

People usually hate mice(老鼠), but one mouse owns the hearts of the people all over the world-the famous Mickey Mouse.
Fifty years ago, most films had no sound. A man named Walt Disney made a cartoon(卡通) mouse that could talk in these films. He named his mouse Mickey Mouse. Soon Mickey Mouse became a good friend of both young and old people . Mickey is clean mouse right from the beginning. Perhaps this is why people love Mickey Mouse. In his early life Mickey made some mistakes. People were very angry. They wrote to Disney and said that they didn’t want Mickey to do wrong things. As there were many things that Mickey could not do, Disney made a new animal named Donald Duck. He also made a dog, Pluto. This dog does foolish things and makes mistakes wherever he goes. Now our Mickey Mouse is not only clean, but more interesting. He came out as a star of beauty and wisdom(智慧). He has friends in almost every country.

Some countries have large numbers of earthquakes. Japan is one of them. One of the most serious earthquakes in world history took place in Japan in 1923. The shock and fires caused by it destroyed much of Tokyo and Yokohama and left more than 7000 dead. Other countries do not have many. For examples, there are few earthquakes in Britain, France, Germany.
There is often a great noise during an earthquake, but it is not always. The earth rocks. Houses fall down. Railway lines are broken. Sometimes many people are killed in an earthquake. People think earthquakes often happen near volcanoes(火山), but this is not always true. The centers of some are under the sea. The bottom of the sea suddenly moves. The powerful forces inside the earth break the rocks. The coast is rocking and great waves are caused there. These waves travel long distances and rush over the land when they reach it. They are strong enough to break down houses and other buildings; sometimes they break more buildings than earthquake itself.
What kind of building stands up best in an earthquake? A building with concrete(水泥) walls is perhaps the best. A steel frame(框架) will make it even stronger. The frame holds the different parts together and the walls do not easily fall. There is less chance of fire because concrete and steel(鋼材) does not burn. This kind of building is the safest. Today modern concrete and steel apartment buildings are commonly seen in cities of Japan.
