【題目】—Does Mrs Li live by herself?

—Yes. She has two daughters, but __________ of them are studying in the US.

A.neitherB.allC.noneD.both

【答案】D

【解析】

句意:——李太太一個人住嗎?——是的。她有兩個女兒,但都在美國讀書。

考查both的用法。neither兩者都不;all三者都;none三者都不;both兩者都;分析句子 She has two daughters, but _____ of them are studying in the US.她有兩個女兒,但 美國讀書,表示兩個,所以排除B、C;因為提問是否李太太一個人住,回答是yes,所以是兩個女兒都在美國,所以用both,故選D

【題目】 Many people love pet dogs. Do you also have one? You may leave your dog at home alone for eight hours, or a normal workday. If it’s longer than that, you'll need to work out something to do so your dog can go outside and have play-time. Dogs are social animals, so leaving them alone for a long time can have a bad influence on them. Even though they sleep most of the day, they need some activities to keep them happy.

If you have a friend who is at home during the day, and who likes spending time with dogs, this may be your best choice. It can also be safer, because you will trust the person coming to your house. Or you can take your dog to your friend's home.

Doggy daycare is a good choice for you, too. You can trust in the daycare to take care of your pet while you are away. Many daycares will also keep your pet overnight if you need them to. It's always a good idea to visit the day-care before taking your dog there. Make sure that the people working there are good with dogs.

If you don't want to choose a doggy daycare, you can hire (雇傭) a dog-walker. Hiring a dog-walker is a good idea for you if you want your pet to have some extra attention during the day. When hiring a dog walker, it's best to go through an agency (代理商). Be sure to ask them if the dog-walker can be trusted. You should also ask them what your pet will do while the dog-walker is there.

Dogs are our friends. If you have a dog, treat him as your family member. Spend more time with him; don't leave him alone for a long time.

【題目】 Timely and transparent(透明的) information is important when dealing with epidemics. In the fight against the novel coronavirus, China has impressed the world with its fast response(應(yīng)對), transparency and close cooperation(合作) with the international society.

After the epidemic broke out in China at the end of Dec. 2019, the NHC immediately sent an expert team to Wuhan, the center of the outbreak, for a deep investigation(調(diào)查). On Jan. 8, the novel coronavirus was first identified(確認(rèn)) as the cause of the epidemic. Three days later, China established a daily reporting system, updating the public every day. Both the central and local-level governments held daily news conference, giving detailed numbers of new cases, deaths, patients in serious condition and recoveries.

At the same time, China has been sharing relevant information with the whole world in a transparent and responsible manner. Soon after China worked out the genome sequence(基因序列) of the new virus, it gave the results to the WHO(世衛(wèi)組織) so that other countries could use it to carry out research and develop medicine. Meanwhile, efforts and support from around the world are also being welcomed to fight the disease. At the moment, a WHO team is working in China to find more methods to better treat and prevent the disease.

1When did China set up the daily reporting system?

A.At the end of Dec. 2019.B.On Jan. 5.

C.On Jan. 8.D.On Jan. 11.

2What is the second paragraph mainly about?

A.When the epidemic broke out.

B.How China responded to the outbreak.

C.What the expert team did in Wuhan.

D.How news about the epidemic was released.

3What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 3 refer to?

A.Relevant information.B.The genome sequence.

C.The new virus.D.A detailed paper.

4According to Margaret Chan, we know that ________.

A.China has set a good example for fighting the virus.

B.China hasn’t followed WHO standards.

C.other countries failed to respond properly to the epidemic.

D.other countries don’t need to adopt strict measures.

【題目】閱讀下面短文, 根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容, 完成下面各題

Forgot your password or your ID? Well, you'll never forget your face. Using your face as your ID is quick and convenient. You could take the subway or board a flight with just your face alone. This is how facial recognition(人臉識別)works. It has also been used to catch criminals. Taylor Swift even used the technology to identify stalkers (識別跟蹤者) at her concerts.

In China, facial recognition systems have been used in many areas. In Zhengzhou, people can now get on the subway by using facial recognition technology. They just need to link their online payment systems to the subway's smartphone app. Students at Peking University can pass through the school's gate by scanning their faces.

However, many citizens are worried about the collection and use of this information by governments and companies. “I feel uncomfortable because I don't know how the company is using my facial details or whether they will be leaked (泄漏),”Feng Yi, a tourism company employee, said. Leaks are a problem because there is a long history of companies failing to protect user data. When someone steals your personal information, you can change your bank card and password, but can you change your face when your facial information is stolen?

As facial recognition is used more and more in our daily lives - from college campuses and subways to street corners and smartphones - we must ask ourselves whether or not this new technology is worth the risk.

1How is facial recognition when you forget your password or your ID?

Using it is________.

2What did Taylor Swift use to identify stalkers at her concerts?

She used________to identify stalkers at her concerts.

3Which university allows students to pass through the school's gate by scanning their faces?
