A Report from People’s Daily
"Chinese style of crossing the road" is a ridicule(調(diào)侃)used by the net friend. It describes a way of some Chinese walking across the road, namely "enough of a person can go(湊夠一撮人就走), not red light”. Just look at other people and do not see the light. It is generally believed that as long as we cross the road together, no car dares to hit us. Here is one of the excuses given by a pedestrian (行人).
Reporter:You know, you can’t run a red light, can you?
Pedestrian:No, I can’t.
Reporter:But why did you do that just now?
Pedestrian:I am in a hurry. I’ll be late for work.
