What's going to happen in the future? Will robots control our planet? Will computers become smarter than us? Not likely. But here are some things that scientists say are most likely to happen in 10 to 30 years from now, according to the BBC.
Digital money

We used to pay with cash(現(xiàn)金) for everything we bought. Now when we use a credit card(信用卡) to shop online, money is spent without us seeing it. That means we are already using digital money. Using a card is much easier than searching our pockets for change. It is also safer than carrying a lot of cash.
When ATM cards were first introduced, they were not accepted everywhere. But now it's hard to live without them. It's reported that people in Sweden completely stopped using cash last year, and the US might be next.
Bionic(仿生的) eye
It's no longer something only in a science fiction movie. People who are blind may have a chance to get their sight back—by wearing bionic eyes.
A blind eye can no longer sense light, but a bionic eye can use a camera to “see” the environment and send data(數(shù)據(jù)) to the mind. Now the bionic eye only allows patients to see lights and unclear shapes. A high resolution(高清的) image could be just a few years away.
Self-driving cars
Unlike a human driver, a self-driving car won't get distracted(分鐘) by phone call, the radio or something outside the window. Sensors(探測器) and cameras on the car would allow it to stick reduce the number of road accidents. You could even take a nap while the car driver itself. In the future, driverless cars would be widely accepted.
小題1:________ has stopped using cash completely.
A.Sweden B.ATM C.BBC D.America
小題2:What does the writer mainly tell us about digital money?
A.We use digital money to shop online without paying money.

B.Human drivers won't get distracted by something outside.
C.The blind wearing bionic eyes may see clearly in the future.

小題4:From the report, we can learn some information about ________.
A.culture and art
B.industry and farming
C.science and technology
D.traffic and journey
小題5:Which of the following can be predicted(預(yù)測) from the passage?

According to scientists' research, the month in which babies are born could affect them in some ways.
Babies born in spring get sick easily. Children born under Aquarius may be less clever than those born in other seasons. They may also have shorter lives than those born in autumn  Scientists believe many of the differences can be explained by the mother's exposure to sunlight in pregnancy(懷孕).  Sunlight helps lead to the production of Vitamin D in the body. The lack of this in the first months of life may have a bad effect on mental and physical health.
Vitamin D, called the "sunshine vitamin", is known to help regulate(調(diào)節(jié)) thousands of genes during development, according to a study of more than two million people. So Vitamin D has a good effect on health  This study showed that people born from April to June had slightly shorter lives than those born in October, November or December. Similar studies in the USA showed that people born in autumn lived about 160 days longer than those born in spring.
Professor Russell Foster, an Oxford University neuroscientist on seasonal biology, said the conclusions were surprising and interesting. He added, "These are small effects but they are very, very clear. I am not giving voice to star signs and they are just for fun. But it is true that we are affected by our season of birth."

小題4:What does the passage mainly tell us?
A. People can know the length of life by star sign.

D. Vitamin D is very important to people's health.

Wang Jiaming from Beijing Chenjinglun High School says he is a lucky boy. He’s happy that he’s sitting the senior high school entrance exam (中考) in 2014 instead of 2016.
On Oct 22, Beijing Municipal Commission of Education (北京市教委) announced that, from 2016, the English scores in the senior high school entrance exam will be reduced from 120 to 100. Of the 100 points, the listening ability scores will increase to 50. Meanwhile, the points for Chinese will increase from 120 to 150.
“The change won’t affect me. I feel so lucky because English is my strongest subject,” said Wang.
Why such a change? It places the importance on Chinese in our study, and reduces students’ stress, said Li Yi, spokesman of the commission.
“The change will also push us to pay attention to the practical usage (運(yùn)用) of English,” said Li. “Students will be encouraged to learn to understand English menus and read English news on mobile phones.”
There isn’t news that other cities will have the same change. But several places are making changes to English tests in the college entrance exams. For example, Shandong is considering taking out the listening part of the English exam in its college entrance exams.
But, “being tested for less points doesn’t mean the subject can be taken lightly,” Bai Ping wrote in China Daily.
English has long been the world’s most commonly used language. Former Chinese premier Zhu Rongji once said: “In a globalizing economy (全球經(jīng)濟(jì)), if you cannot communicate with foreigners, how can one be part of the world economy?”
Wang Jiaming said he understood the change.
“Chinese, not English, is our mother tongue (母語),” he said. “But still, I think English is both interesting and useful.”
小題1:In the Beijing senior high school entrance exam of 2016, _____.
A.the English scores will be cut down to 100
B.the English listening ability scores will be lowered
C.the points for Chinese will be reduced by 30 points
D.the points for chemistry will increase by 20 points
小題2: The underlined phrase “can be taken lightly” in this sentence “being tested for less points  doesn’t mean the subject can be taken lightly,” is closest in meaning to “_____________”.
A.can be taken out
B.can be paid less attention to
C.can be taken a close look at
D.can take the place of Chinese
小題3:What is the main purpose of the change?
A.To encourage students to learn how to order meals in English.
B.To make students learn to read English news on mobile phones.
C.To ask students to prepare for the college entrance exam.
D.To make students pay more attention to learning Chinese.
小題4:What does Bai Ping think of the reforms (改革)?
A.They make students spend less time on English.
B.They make it harder to get a high score.
C.Studying English is still important for the students.
D.English is both interesting and useful.
