In most parts of the world, many students help their schools make less pollution(污染). They join “environment(環(huán)境) clubs ”. (1)In an environment club, people work together to make our environment clean. Here are some things students often do.
No garbage(垃圾) lunches. How much do you throw away after lunch? Environment clubs ask students to bring their lunches in bags and the bags can be used again. If the classes make the least garbage, we will report them to the whole school!
No car day. On a no car day, nobody comes to school in a car-----not the students and not the teachers! Cars give pollution to our air, so remember: Walk, jump, bike or run. Use your legs! It's lots of fun!
Turn off the water! Did you know that some toilets(廁所) can waste(浪費) 20 to 40 m3 of water an hour? In a year, that would fill a small river! In environment clubs, students mend(修理) those broken toilets.
We love our environment. (2) Everyone should take _______ to make our environment ______. Let's work together.

Great white sharks have become well known in a bad way, for being scary. 【1】 . However, you are more likely to be hit by lightning than attacked by a great white shark.
One reason why people don’t like great white sharks is that they are huge. They grow to be nearly 21 feet long and can weigh up to 5,000 pounds. That is about two cars long! But the size is not typical. Most great whites are smaller, about 10 to 15 feet long. 【2】 .
Great whites are called apex predators(捕食者)because they are at the top of the food chain. They have no predators and aren’t that picky about what they eat. Great whites are known to eat fish, squid, other sharks, otters, turtles, dolphins, whales, seals, and sea lions. 【3】 . Great whites also eat carrion, which is the remains of dead animals floating(漂浮)in the water.
【4】 . They have 3,000 teeth, and each is up to 3 inches long! Their very sharp teeth are shaped like triangles and have rough edges that tear into things. Great whites don’t even chew their food. They just swallow it down. 【5】 .
But, like other sharks, great whites don’t intentionally(主動地)eat or attack humans. So swim without fear.
A. That’s still longer than one car, though
B. Those last two kinds are their favourite food
C. Movies and popular stories make them scary
D. A big meal can satisfy a great white shark for about two months
E. Another reason why people fear great whites is their frightening teeth

【題目】Perhaps the only test score that I remember is the 55 I got when I was in high school.
The test was the final for a course. I remember waiting anxiously as my teacher Mr. Right handed out our papers one after another. It was a rather test. I heard my classmates groaning (嘆息), and I could tell by the groans that the scores weren’t looking good.
Mr. Right put my paper on my desk. There in big red numbers, circled to draw attention , was my score, 55! I lowered my head, and covered the score up quickly. A 55 is not something that you wanted your classmates to see.“The scores were not very good, none of you 7 ,” Mr Right said. “The highest score in the class was a 55.”
A 55. That’s me! my sad look didn’t look so bad. I had the highest score. I felt a lot better.
I walked home alone that day with the low but high score. My mother knew that I had a big test that day and asked me as soon as I got home, “How did you do in your test?” “I got 55,” I said. A frown(皺眉) now stood on my mother’s face. I knew I had to immediately. “But Mum, I had the highest score in the class,” I proudly stated (陳述). I thought that explanation would make a difference. “You failed!!” my mother replied. “But it’s the highest!” I insisted. “I don’t care what scores others had, you failed. What matters is what you /span>do!” my mother firmly (堅定地) said.
For years, my mother was in that way. It didn’t matter what others did, it only mattered what I did and that I did it excellently.
We often don’t understand the of good parents until we ourselves stand in the parents’ shoes. My mother’s words have carried me throughout life.
