【題目】閱讀下面短文,根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容完成下列各題。Thumbs Down to Texting (屈指發(fā)短信)
Do you have a mobile phone? Do you send text messages to your friends and family?
Text messaging or “texting” is becoming very popular. But, scientists have discovered that texting can give us problems with our hands. Be careful! Too much texting can cause swelling in our thumbs. Our thumbs were not made for pushing small buttons, over and over. Scientists call this problem RSI. We spoke to a doctor called Harriet Wilson, who treats many sick people with RSI. She says we need to see how much time we are spending in typing text messages. If we are spending more than 10-15 minutes at once, we could have problems in the future.
As mobile phones develop, they are getting smaller with buttons closer together. Texting with a smaller phone is worse than using a larger phone with bigger buttons. Using a computer keyboard and playing video games can cause the same problem. So more and more people could find themselves with RSI. Among them, most are university students and teenagers, as they do not know the risks of spending so much time using computer, video games and mobile phones. If we don't do something about this, too many young people could grow up in terrible pain.
(1)What is becoming very popular now?
(2)Does the word “once” mean “one time” in the second passage?
(3)What kind of people are easier to have the problem of RSI?
(4)What can also cause RSI except texting?
(5)Which is easier to cause the problem of RSI, using smaller mobile phones or larger ones?

There is a sign at a Korean university asking tourists not to step into the grass to take photos. The sign is not written in Korean or English; it is written in Chinese.
These signs, and signs in other countries warning Chinese tourists about their behavior, have shamed many Chinese who worry about the image of the country.
Over 70 million Chinese tourists made overseas trips last year and spent $102 billion, more than the $84 billion spent by American and German tourists. You are guests in the country and it's important to respect your hosts. As more and more Chinese visit foreign countries, their behavior will certainly change and those shameful signs will, hopefully, disappear.

【題目】 Having a husband means an extra seven hours of housework each week for women, according to a new study. For men, getting married saves an hour of housework a week. "It's a well-known pattern(模式)," said lead researcher Frank Stafford at University of Michigan's Institute for Social Research. "Men usually work more outside the home, while women take on more of the housework."
He points out that differences among households(家庭) exist. But in general, marriage means more housework for women and less for men. "And the situation gets worse for women when they have children," Stafford said.
Overall, times are changing in the American home. In 1976, women busied themselves with 26 weekly hours of housework, compared with 17 hours in 2005. Men are taking on more housework, more than doubling their housework hours from 6 in 1976 to 13 in 2005.
Single women in their 20s and 30s did the least housework, about 12 weekly hours, while married women in their 60s and 70s did the most-about 21 hours a week.
Men showed a somewhat different pattern, with older men picking up the broom(掃帚) more often than younger men. Single men worked the hardest around the house, more than that of all other age groups of married men.
Having children increases housework even further. With more than three children, for example, wives took on more of the extra work, clocking about 28 hours a week compared with husbands'10 hours.
【1】According to the "well-known pattern" in Paragraph 1, a married man ________.
A.takes on heavier workB.does more housework
C.is the main breadwinnerD.is the master of the house
【2】How many hours of housework did men do every week in the 1970s?
A.About 23.B.About 28.C.About 13.D.About 6.
【3】What kind of man is doing most housework according to the text?
A.An unmarried man.B.An older married man.
C.A younger married man.D.A married man with children.
【4】What can we conclude from Stafford's research?
A.Marriage gives men less freedom.B.Marriage has effects on job choices.
C.Housework sharing changes over time.D.Having children means doubled housework.

When we have a conversation with someone, we may be using more body language than words. However, the same body language may mean different things in different countries. (A)sometimes, that's, understand, correctly, why, don't, each other, people. Pointing to one part of the body can mean differently in different cultures. For example, in the USA people point to their heads when they think someone is clever. However, in Europe it means “He or she is stupid or something is wrong with his or her head”. In our Chinese culture, nodding our head up and down means “yes” and shaking our head from side to side means “no”. However, in parts of India, Greece and Turkey, it means just the opposite. In England or the USA, when you raise your hand and make a circle with the thumb and the second finger, it means “You're all right or everything is OK”. However, if we do this in France or Belgium, it means “You're worth zero”. In Greece or Turkey, we should not make this gesture. Or we are thought to be very rude.
The meaning of gestures can also change over time. In the 1960s, the “V” sign meant “peace”. However, during World War Ⅱ, it meant “victory”.
