【題目】 Six years ago, Shilagh Mirgain decided to achieve the goal shed had on her bucket list(目標(biāo)清單)for twenty years: to reach the top of Mount Kilimjanjaro. Four years ago, she bought her hiking shoes and started to hike. Two years after that she began to imitate the difficulties of the nine-day hike with a weighted backpack. Last summer, she booked her tour. In February, she climbed to the very top of the mountain.

If it wasn't for her bucket list, Mirgain says she might never have known the pleasure of standing at top of one of the world's most famous mountains. Bucket lists are helpful in that they are a way of listening to your inner wisdom(智慧). She say,“Its so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day jobs, to-do lists, doing chores and the like—you may not see your inner need.”

One study found that participants who wrote down their goals finished more than those who didn't. Other positive psychology research suggests that finishing goals like that is important for a satisfying life.

For Mirgain, who added Kilimanjaro to her list after receiving a postcard sent from the mountain by a group of women she had met who were climbing it, it wasn't so much the act of writing down her bucket list that helped her stick to it, as it was keeping it someplace noticeable. “I keep pictures of my top bucket list things on my fridge,” she says, “When I finish something I take that photo down and put it on another board in my home, along with a photo of myself at that place.”

Mirgain said excitedly. “It’s great to finish your bucket list.” she says, “To work toward something you wanted to experience or achieve gives you a confidence and can change your opinion of the world.”

1In order to achieve her goal, Shilagh Mirgain______.

A.toured many places

B.had years of preparation

C.missed many important things

D.spent a lot of money on the things needed for the hiking

2Why should we make a bucket list?

A.It makes our work in order.

B.It helps others notice our intelligence.

C.It encourages us to follow our heart.

D.It can keep us away from daily chores.

3What is especially important for Shilagh Mirgain to stick to her goal?

A.Joining a group.

B.Her unshakable confidence.

C.Getting reminded of her goal often.

D.Encouragement from like-minded women.

4What is the text mainly about?

A.The life story of a great woman.

B.How to have great achievements.

C.Why we should listen to our inner wisdom.

D.The importance of making a bucket list.

【題目】下面文章中有五處 (1—5) 需要添加首句。請從以下選項(xiàng) (AB、CD、EF)中選出符合各段意思的首句。選項(xiàng)中有一項(xiàng)是多余選項(xiàng)。

A. Do what you are told to do.

B. Remember parents are important.

C. Do things with your parents.

D. How can your parents believe you?

E. Respect them more and value these moments.

F. Tell them you love them.

Nowadays, more and more teenagers can’t get along well with their parents, some even fight with their parents from time to time. That’s too bad. Even if you think that your parents cannot understand you at times, loving your parents is a normal and satisfying part of life. You love them for the fact that they created you and raised you. Here are some ways to love your parents.

1 You can use these moments to learn from them when you’re off on your own. It’s OK to be angry, but angry actions don’t help you or your parents. Act calmly, cool off, keep a diary about your feelings, or talk to a friend. After this, show your feelings to your parents.

2 It depends on what you do. For example, if you get home late without calling first, next time your parents may not believe you. To get their trust, you must pay attention to the ways you do things instead of fighting with them. It will make your life much easier.

3 You can watch TV, or go somewhere with them. Anyway, spend as much time with them as you can. You can go hiking together, your parents will get to know that you have the ability to deal with different problems, and they will understand you more. Listen to their old stories and learn from them. You will find they are your teachers in one way or another.

4 A gentle “good morning” and “I love you” will warm the coldest heart every morning. Remember that they brought you into the world. Without your parents, you might still wander at an unknown corner in an unknown world.

5 It will help you to get more respect from them. It may seem like you are going through hell when you don’t get what you want or you have to clean the room when you aren’t willing to do that at that moment. However, you had better remember they keep you comfortable when it’s cold, raining, snowing, or too hot. Understand that parents are human beings and they make mistakes, too.

【題目】The holiday is coming to us. Finally, after months of study, you have some time to yourself. So, why not read a book? Well, some people will say, “Why do you like reading books? We have Internet. It offers a lot of more colorful fun. Books are history!” But I am sure you can learn a lot from books than Internet.

One clear reason is that a well-chosen book can give you a lot of wonderful words, as long as you have a good dictionary, of course. Believe me; it’s far easier to get new words from a book or an article than it is from the TV or the Internet.

But another more important point is that books give you something that the Internet cannot. The general webpage (網(wǎng)頁) is picture-heavy and the text is as easy to read as possible. While “easy” may attract (吸引) you, unluckily it’s not helpful for any long-term development of reading skills and the general language level. Because of that, reading on the Internet can’t take the place of reading books.

But perhaps the best reason is that just choosing what you read and doing it independently means that it’s something you do by and for yourself. You can choose what you want to read. It’s hard work, but you’ll find that what once seemed like a duty is now a pleasure.

1Does the writer advise people to read books in their holidays?

2What can people get from a well-chosen book?

3What’s the general webpage like?

4How many reasons for reading a book does the writer mention in the passage?

5What does the writer want to tell us in the passage?

【題目】閱讀短文及文后選項(xiàng),選出可以填入空白處的最佳選項(xiàng)。

Do you know how to choose a good book you’ll really like? Here are some tips.

Start with Your Interest. 1 You can choose something that you love to read, not for school. They can be computers, or fashion design.

What’s your Type? Do you prefer fiction or nonfiction (or both)? Fiction books, like novels, can lead you to another world. Nonfiction books give you the who, what, when, and why of something. 2

Many of them read like novels from start to finish.

Read the Description. The quotes on the back and inside covers of many books give you an idea of what the book is about. They can also help you choose future books, too. If you find a book you really like, take a minute to read the quotes and see which authors praised the book. 3

Find a Family Favorite. Which book did your mother love best when she was at your age? 4

Find out and give them a read — then you can share your thoughts about the book.

Finally, you’ll probably enjoy what you’re reading a lot more if you find a quiet place and make time for the book. 5 You can put on some good music, get yourself some tea and let yourself be carried away by the book. You’ll see that time does fly when you’re reading something you love!

A. How about your brothers and sisters?

B. They tell stories using facts — but that doesn’t mean they’re boring.

C. Most reading is best enjoyed when you can focus on it.

D. Often, they’ll have similar styles and you might find books you like by those authors, too.

E. Reading on your own isn’t like reading for school.
