【題目】
Last week the electricity(power) in my flat went out. I had just got home from work and was happily making my tea, when suddenly I was surrounded by complete darkness. The lights had gone out, the oven had stopped working and my phone was no longer charging. My flatmates and I tried to fix it but we soon realised that we couldn't. We would have to wait for an electrician to come in the morning. This left me a whole night without any electricity. I wasn't really sure what to do. My typical evening is spent watching the TV and scrolling through social media. Tonight this wasn't possible. We weren't prepared with candles and matches. I couldn't even read a book.
So for me it was an early night. And I couldn't help but think, do we depend on electricity too much? That night, losing our electricity felt like losing a basic necessity-as basic as running water. But really , electricity is a luxury(奢侈)that we've grown to take for granted. I use electricity all the time, even when it's not really necessary. I use it to put the TV on in the background even when I'm not really watching it. I use it to check my phone when I have to wait for even just a minute, for example when waiting for friends. And as I'm writing this, I have my lights on, even in the middle of the day when I don't really need them.
Our over-use of electricity is a big problem. It contributes to something that we really should be worried about. It is harming our environment and we need to do what we can to stop it. Not only that, but if we continue to use the same large amount of energy we will soon run out.
How would we survive in a world without electricity? Our daily lives revolve around it. We wouldn't be able to function. Yet we know that, one day, we will run out. So, shouldn't we start preparing for it now? I know for sure that I could cut down on my use of electricity. And if everyone does the same, we can make a big difference.

【題目】 THE LIFE CYCLE
When you plant a seed, does it stay a seed forever? No! Plants and animals grow and change lives.
Many plants begin as seeds. As the seed gets what it needs(water, sunlight, and nutrients from the soil),it begins to grow. The seed turns into a little. It keeps growing until it is a full-grown plant. Then the plant makes new seeds, so that new plants can grow even after the plant grows old and dies. Those seeds will then go through their growth process(過(guò)程).Because seeds go through this process over and over again, it is called a life cycle.
Animals also have life cycles. A frog begins as an egg. When the egg hatches, it turns into a tadpole. The tadpoles grow legs and arms, and finally grow into adult frogs. The adult frogs lay eggs, so that new frogs can live even after the frog grows old and dies.A dog's life cycle is a little different than a frog's, because a dog does not start out as an egg. It is born from its mother's belly. The puppy keeps growing and is finally an adult dog. Then the adult dog might have puppies to continue the life cycle!
Insects like caterpillars go through life cycles, too. Caterpillars begin as eggs. When they hatch, they are larvae. The caterpillar becomes a pupa, and inside of the pupa it turns into an adult. The adult is not a caterpillar; it is a butterfly! Then the butterfly lays eggs, so that new caterpillars and butterflies can live even after the butterfly grows old and dies.Plants and animals don't stay the same throughout their lives, they grow and change through their life cycle.
【1】What do plants begin as?

【2】Which of the following lay eggs?
