【題目】
Taking a bus or subway in the United States, you can often see people reading books on their way to school or work. But in China, I hardly ever see people reading during their free time.
Are people’s attitudes (態(tài)度) toward reading different here? Not really. Data (數(shù)據(jù)) from Amazon China in December 2017 show that Chinese people still read a lot. They just like e-books better than traditional books.
However, other data show that reading is still more popular in the US than in China. Is there a reason for this difference? I’m not sure. What I do know is that China has a rich history of literature from great Chinese literature like Romance of the Three Kingdoms (《三國演義》) to the modern science-fiction epic The Three-Body Problem (《 三 體 》). Chinese writers have created many wonderful written works.
Perhaps the difference starts from childhood. Reading textbooks and doing homework can make you feel quite tired. By the time you finish it, you might not feel like reading for fun. Chinese students have to read more and do more homework than US students. So that's why they might not want to read much in their free time.
But learning to love reading can be great. Reading can open doors to places, people and ideas that you cannot think of. Even just a small book has the magic to change your own personal thoughts and attitudes. Where will your next book take you?

【題目】The label(標(biāo)簽), Made in China, is one that is becoming increasingly common in shopping centers all over the world.
In the United States, shoppers at Wal-Mart, the nation’s largest retailer(零售商), have a wide selection of products mostly produced in China. The large amount of Chinese imports have created a large selection of goods in other countries as people begin to buy more and more products made in China. These goods are even widely available in other Asian nations, where Chinese-made goods are quite popular. Chinese brand names are also becoming more well-known outside China.
When Chinese Americans visit family and friends in their homeland, gifts from the U.S. are a must. But TVs and fashionable clothes aren’t rare any more, and anything “Made in China” shouldn’t be considered in any case.
“When I decide to visit my family members in China, I will have a big headache. What should I buy for them? They may not all speak English, but everyone in China knows those three words,” a Chinese American said. “When they see the label ‘Made in China’, they will think, ‘Why do you send me this?’ ”

【題目】As space science develops, man has learned more and more about space. Space is not only amazing but also dangerous. While working in space, spacemen are facing danger as well as success.
Scientists have found out that the radiation(輻射) is the greatest danger to spacemen in space. When spacemen are working in space, they are in danger of the radiation from the sun and other stars, which is bad for their health. The harm of the radiation won’t be found until their children even grandchildren are born. Some special medicine may work a little, but no really effective medicine has been found so far.
Space rubbish is also thought to be a great danger to spacemen. It’s reported that there were 9,000 man-made things flying in space. About 30% of these are satellites, 10% are spaceships, and the rest are space rubbish. An explosion(爆炸)in space in 1999 made a cloud of 300,000fragments, each at least 4mm in size. A small piece of these even knocked a spaceship window and caused some damage(損壞).
Scientists are watching and reporting any possible danger all the time. They are working to deal with space rubbish. Although space is really dangerous, it interests many people on the earth. In the near future, it may become possible for people to spend a few days in a space hotel. We may even choose to leave the earth and live in space in a few years. So we should do something to help improve the space environment.
