【答案】范文
Dear Robert,
I’d like to share my family rules with you. Every family has its own rules. My parents are very strict with me, and they have made some basic rules which I must obey.
Firstly, I must come back home as soon as the school is over. Secondly, I am not allowed to play computer games, even in my free time or on weekends. Thirdly, I have to do some housework, such as making the bed, tidying my bedroom and so on. If I break one of them, I will be punished.
I think that the second rule is unfair to me. I hope sometimes I could be allowed to play computer games for a while. It will make me relaxed. Moreover, I should be allowed to organize my own life.
Yours,
Li Hua

【題目】 We talked with June Galloway about her book Get off on the Right Foot: Don’t Let the Wrong Gesture Ruin (毀壞) Your Day.
English is the world’s international language. But in your book, non-verbal (不用語言的) communication is paid more attention to. ▲
June: Well, gestures (手勢) and other body language can have different meanings in different places. Something that you think is friendly or polite could be considered to be very impolite in another culture. I’ve described many of these customs and cultural differences, so my readers won’t have a bad start when they meet people from places where the culture is different from their own.
Can greeting someone the wrong way really lead to misunderstanding (誤解)?
June: In some places, yes. The heavy handshake that a North American expects may seem quite impolite in other places. And a light handshake―which is usual in some countries—may seem unfriendly to a North American.
What other gestures can cause misunderstanding?
June: Take the gesture for “come here” for example. In North America, people gesture with the palm (掌心) up. Well, in southern Europe, that gesture means “goodbye”. And in many Asian countries, the palm-up gesture is thought rude. Instead, people there gesture with the palm down.
Surely, there must be some gestures used everywhere, right? What about the thumb-up (翹拇指) gesture for “great”?

【題目】 School playgrounds are supposed to help kids stay active and healthy. But since 2015, toxic(有毒的)chemicals in running tracks have caused many students in several cities, including Shanghai, Beijing and Wuhan, to suffer from nosebleeds, headaches and coughs. It was found that the materials used to build the tracks in these school’s playgrounds contained high levels of toxic chemicals.
On November 1,2018, new standards for the materials used to build playgrounds in primary and middle schools across the country came into effect. The Ministry of Education(MOE)created these standards to protect students’ health.
The standards prohibit(禁止)the use of 18 chemicals for making running tracks, 11 more than the previous standards. The prohibited chemicals are harmful to the skin, eyes and noses and can even cause terrible diseases, China Daily noted.
For the first time, the standards also call for tests of the man-made grass that is used on some playgrounds as some of the materials used to produce man-made grass are highly toxic. Running tracks or patches(片)of man-made grass that does not meet these standards will be changed or removed.
The MOE has taken action in the last few years to keep playgrounds safe. Since 2016, it has invited experts and professionals(專業(yè)人員)to test new playgrounds at schools nationwide. 【題目】 How would you feel if someone decided to take away your park? Well that's what's happening in my community. There's a park that some people want to turn into a golf course (高爾夫球場). Let me tell you why I think it's a bad idea.
First, a park is meant to be for the whole community. Not everyone likes golf, so not everyone will get to use the park. This isn't fair. A community park should have open spaces for everyone to use.
Second, to make way for the golf course, lots of playground equipment (設(shè)施) will have to be moved or knocked down, which is a waste of time and money. It's also a waste of perfectly good equipment. The swings, for example, will probably just end up as litter.
Third, what about giving young people something to do? Not all kids are crazy about golf. At the moment, the park has a skating place and a playground. These attract lots of kids from the community. If you turn the park into a golf course, these kids won't have anywhere to go and they won't have anything to do.
This means that they will stay at home and turn on a video game rather than get some exercise. It also means that they might be out on the street causing trouble. Wouldn't it be better to give them something to do at the park?
Finally, golf is expensive. Building a golf course and maintaining (維護)it costs a lot of money. Who is going to pay to maintain the golf course? What about those people who can't afford to join a golf club? That means that the golf course will only be available to people with lots of money.
Turning our park into a golf course is a bad idea. I suggest we have a community meeting before plans go any further.
【1】Some people want to change the park into __________.
A.a golf clubB.a golf courseC.a parkD.a skating place
【2】According to Paragraph 4, having nowhere to go will make some children
A.go to get some exerciseB.fall in love with golf
C.play video games at homeD.go to the street and make friends
【3】Which of the following shows the structure of the passage?
(P=Paragraph)
A.B.C.D.
【4】What is the writer's purpose in writing this passage?
A.To help carry out further plans.
B.To make the park more beautiful.
C.To encourage children to go skating.
D.To stop the golf course from being built.
