1Have you told Tom about the future plan?

When I entered the office, he ________ just ________ (leave), so we had little time to talk about it.

2About fifty percent of the population of the city ________ (be) workers in this car factory in the 1990s.

3He said the next time he came here, he ________ (stay) for a longer period of time.

4The old man was seen ________ (shut) the windows when his neighbour walked past his wooden house.

5If it rains tomorrow, the football match ________ (cancel).

6It's said that the prices of fixed gear bicycles ________ (rise) a lot recently.

1was leaving

2were

3would stay

4shutting

5will be cancelled

6have risen

根據“When I entered the office”以及“so we had little time to talk about it.” 又因主語是he,因此be動詞用was。故填(1). was (2). leaving

故填were。

主句He said,是一般過去時態(tài)。

此句是一般過去時,在主動語態(tài)的句子中,短語“看見某人正在做某事”是see sb. doing sth.,變成被動語態(tài)時是be seen doing sth.;本題中“看見老人正在關窗戶”,主動語態(tài)要用saw the old man shutting the window,變成一般過去時的被動語態(tài)是the old man was seen shutting the window。

根據“the prices of fixed gear bicycles ________ (rise) a lot recently.” 主語是the prices為復數,故填have risen。

Bullies are a big problem in schools. Every week, many children are afraid to go to school. They are afraid they will be picked on(找茬) by a bully. One study found that 52% of children reported being bullied at least once a week. Sixty percent say that they know someone who could harm them. One student was always being joked because he was short. He didn't like to go to school because he had to face the bullies.

Some children choose not to go to school at all so they can avoid the bullies. When they miss school, students fall behind their classmates. A new program is helping put an end to this problem. The program is teaching kids how to deal with bullies. This is helping more children feel safe in school.

One school principal is working to end this negative behavior. Last year, he decided to let students know bullying is not allowed there. Students are now encouraged to report bullies and stand up for themselves. Those found to be bullies face harsh penalties Students at his school participate in a program called "Be Bold". In this program, students work together to prevent violence(暴力). They do skits(小喜。 and go into classrooms to talk about the problem. They give other students strategies (策略) on how to deal with bullies.

The principal says that the school has changed since he has addressed(重點指出) the bullying problem. But there are other steps parents can take to help their children with this problem. First, students and their parents should know the school's rules about bullying and what they should do if it happens. Second, children should be taught to stand up for themselves. They should try to resolve issues by talking them out. If the problem continues, parents and children should record each incident. Children should tell someone if they are being joked. Many children keep bullying a secret. Third, Parents should look for warning signs of bullying. These can include cuts and bruises (瘀傷), worrying, wanting to stay home from school, or a sudden drop in grades.

1Are many children afraid to go to school every week?

Car Free Day encourages drives to give up their car for a day to protect the environment.

People from around the world get together in the streets to remind the world that we don't have to accept the society full of cars. It was first started by 34 cities in France and September 22 is Car Free Day. The first Car Free Day in China was in Chengdu in 2001. The slogan for the day is “If we drive for one less day, we can have one more nice day.”

Organized activities are held in many cities on Car Free Day. In Brussels, Car Free Day shall be valid (有效的) for everybody except persons with a special permit(許可征), but they have to slow down to the speed of 30 kilometers per hour. The public transportation is free on that day. In London, they have special “green areas”. Walking, biking and public transportation are encouraged. The streets are open only to walkers, bicycles and buses from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. In Beijing, it asks drivers to leave their cars at home for one day each month and walk or ride a bike to work. More and more people are joining in the activity. In the first quarter of this year, Beijing only had 52 blue sky days, and you may see haze(霧霾) almost every day! We must do more for Car Free Day as a Beijing driver said. “We may not change the weather, but we can choose not to drive.”

But we do not want just one day and then a return to “normal” life. We should go on with Car Free Day.

You’re on the school bus. But as soon as you turn a corner, you '11 find yourself at the end of a very long queue. It's another traffic jam! Meanwhile, in Antarctica(南極洲), snow covers the land. A group of emperor penguins crowd together to keep warm, using stop-and-go movements to protect themselves from the winds. Can you see the connection?

Emperor penguins move like cars in traffic jams to keep warm, according to a new research. A penguin only needs to move 2cm in any direction for its neighbor to do the same thing. These movements then flow(涌動) through the whole group of penguins like a "traveling wave".

These waves also help the smaller crowds join bigger groups, keeping more and more of their friends warm. A single Antarctic "traffic jam" has thousands of penguins. Interestingly, the technology once used for studying road traffic jams was used to study the penguins. It included studying time-lapse(延時) videos. Scientists also discovered that unlike on the road, these waves can be made by any penguin and in any direction.

With temperatures usually dropping 50 degrees below zero and winds reaching speeds of up to 200km/h, these traveling waves are very important for penguins to keep warm.

These penguins can also teach us a lesson. In a big group, they learn to be orderly and patient, and never to crash into each other. These are skills that we should all learn from them when we are on the road!

1According to the passage, emperor penguins get together to .

A.keep warmB.play gamesC.learn from each other

2In a traffic jam on the road, .

3From the passage, we learn that a "traveling wave" is .

A.caused by a traffic jam on the road

B.caused by the strong winds in Antarctica

C.formed by the movement of penguins

4If a penguin is in a group, it .

A.needs to move orderlyB.can move as fast as it likesC.will not leave others behind

5The last paragraph wants to tell us that .

A.penguins won't move together if they are not very cold

B.traffic jams happen probably because people are patient

C.we human beings should learn from penguins

【題目】 Livestreaming(直播) is turning out to be quite a big trend. From playing video games to dancing to K-pop, streamers are making big money simply by sharing their daily lives with the world. Some streamers even become world-famous, especially e-sports players like Shroud and Ninja.

I don’t really watch a lot of livestreams. When it comes to gaming, I’d rather play video games myself than watch someone else play them. But I understand that some gamers might watch them to pick up playing tips.

Sometimes livestreaming is a bit vain. A lot of streamers are just doing it for the attention. That being said, I’ve also found some good streams. For example, one streamer I used to watch would hang a sign around her neck that asked for tips. When her tips reached a certain amount, she would put a metal bowl on her head and hit it with a wooden spoon. It was weird(怪異的),but I just couldn’t stop watching sometimes. I’d never seen anything quite like it before.

Other streams can show us things that we wouldn’t usually get to see. Since you can start your own livestream with just a smartphone, even people in the countryside can show us their lives. I’ve seen parts of rural(農村的) China that I would never normally see by checking out their streams. It gives me a look at a lifestyle that I’m not very familiar with.

1Streamers are making big money simply by ________.

A.singing and dancingB.playing video games

C.sharing their daily lives with the worldD.playing sports

2The underlined word “vain” in Paragraph 3 means ________in Chinese.

A.狡猾的B.虛榮的C.無恥的D.

3What can you use to start your own livestream?

A.a lot of streamers are just doing it for the attention
