【題目】Different types of maps have different uses. Tourist maps, for example, have signs to show places of interest in an area. When tourists read these maps, it is easy for them to find where to go and what to see in a place and it is easy for them to go and find their ways to these places.
Road maps show large areas so that people can plan long journeys. Different types of roads are given different numbers. For example, if you want to go to Wood Green, you just follow No. 621 Road and keep looking at the road signs.
Distribution maps(分布圖) use colors or signs to show facts about an area. For example, where different languages are spoken, how many people live in an area, how cold and hot some places are, or whether a place is short of water.
Some maps, such as railway maps, use straight lines to show everything. This is easy for people to read. Trains are fast. People don’t have to think about small places they go past. They just need to know the two ends of their trips.

Everyone can change the world
What can we do to help protect the environment? It seems useless to just pick up a piece of trash (垃圾), but what will happen if you keep doing it every day? Tommy Kleyn, an ordinary man from the Netherlands, may give you the answer.
Tommy Kleyn walked past a polluted river on his way to work every day. It used to be a beautiful view, but the trash on the bank made it dirty and smelly. So Tommy decided to pick up the trash along the river a little bit at a time after work. “It took me about 30 minutes to fill one garbage(垃圾) bag with trash, but one garbage bag didn't seem helpful in a place as polluted as this. I decided to fill one bag of trash each day as I passed by," Tommy said. Every day, Tommy took pictures of the river and shared them on his Facebook page.To his surprise, in just six days, he had made great progress with his cleanup effort(努力). He felt happy and kept doing it. Gradually, more and more people knew about Tommy's story. Other people in the community began following in his footsteps and cleaning up trash on their way home, too.
“The idea is to encourage people to fill one garbage bag with litter each day. It only takes 30 minutes, but it really makes a difference and you will be amazed at how good you feel afterwards," he said.
People from all over the world have been moved and inspired(激發(fā)) by Tommy's story. No effort is useless if we keep doing it every day. Ordinary people like you and me can also make a difference to the world we live in if we take actions right now.
【1】Did Tommy Kleyn walk past a polluted river on his way to work every day?
【2】What did Tommy decide to do after work?
【3】Where did Tommy share the pictures of the river that he took?

At the same time, a lion wakes from his dream. Encourage Exercises
It’s no secret that many students do not like to say in classrooms and study all day.【1】 : Quite a lot of them don’t like outdoor PE classes either.
“Our three PE classes every week are all run, run and run. It’s for our High School Entrance Examination (中考),said Li Liangjing, 15, a junior 3 student from Xiamen.
【2】 .Two months ago, the Shanghai University of Sport made a survey from over 110,000 students and worked out teenagers’ physical index (指數).For junior high school students, their physical health score is 94.1, which is quite good. But this doesn’t mean they are active in sports, because their awareness (意識) and willingness (意愿) to do physical exercises only scores at 74.8.【3】 , reported the Paper News.
Because of that, the Shanghai Education committee decided to put more importance on the general physical quotient (體商) of teenagers. This means that schools should pay attention to not only students’ health and sports test scores, but also their knowledge, skills and willingness to do exercises.
Thus, making PE classes more fun and growing students’ interests in sports seems necessary, according to the deputy director (副主任) of the Shanghai Education Committee, Wang Ping.【4】 , such as throwing the handkerchief (手絹) and the eagle and the chickens. They also teach students different sports like tennis, swimming and martial art (武術).
“【5】 , which can be good for all their lives,” said Wang. And experts (專家) from the Shanghai University of Sport are planning to introduce the idea to more provinces.
