【題目】閱讀下面短文,根據短文內容回答文后問題。
Once, a student complained to his teacher about his unhappy life. The teacher decided to teach him a lesson.
One day, he asked the student to get some salt and a glass of water.
The student returned with a glass of clean water and a handful of salt. The teacher asked the young man to put the salt into the glass and drink it.
"How does it taste?” the teacher asked.
"It tastes bitter (味苦的),” the student replied.
The teacher didn't say anything else, but asked the young man to get the same amount (數量) of salt and follow the teacher to a nearby lake.
"Put the salt into the lake,” the teacher said. The young man did what the teacher said.
"Now, taste the water from the lake,” the teacher said.
As the water dropped down the young man’s chin, the teacher asked, “How does it taste?”
"Fresh and a bit sweet,” the student said.
"Do you taste the salt?” the teacher asked.
"No,” the young man shook his head.
The teacher sat beside the young man and said, “The pain of life is like salt — no more, no less. However, the amount of bitterness you taste depends on the container (容器) you put the pain in.” The amount of pain in life stays exactly the same. So when you are in pain, the only thing to do is to open up the mind. Stop being a glass, become a lake.
回答下面 5 個問題,每題答案不超過 5 個詞。
【1】What did the student complain to his teacher about?
【2】Where did the teacher ask the student to put the salt at first?
【3】How did the water from the lake taste?
【4】What does the salt mean in the story?

In 1993 the UN decided that March 22nd is the World Water Day. On this day every year, countries around the world hold events to educate people about the problems of dirty water and that clean water is something everyone must have around the world.
The human body is 60% of water and we need to drink lots of water to be healthy. We also need water for cooking. We have toilets in our houses and when we brush our teeth or have a shower, we use the bathroom. Farmers, who produce the food we eat, use water to make the plants grow.
We are lucky enough to have clean water whenever ( 無 論 何 時 ) we want, but this is not the case for many
people around the world. Do you know the fact that around 750 million people do not have clean water to drink? And do you know that 2.5 billion people do not have clean toilets? That’s about 1 in 3 people in the world.
If we drink dirty water or we can’t wash our hands when we go to the toilet, it is easy to catch diseases from the bacteria (細菌) and become ill. Every year over 500,000 children die from diarrhoea (腹瀉) from dirty water. In some countries children walk many kilometers every day to get water and sometimes the water isn’t even clean! If children walk many hours a day to get water, they can’t go to school.
For World Water Day, some people in the UK walk, run or cycle 10 km, others climb mountains or even jump from a plane to the ground. At one school children walk 6 km with 6 liters of water so they can see how it feels to walk a long distance (距離) carrying heavy bottles of water. People give them money for doing these things and all the money helps get clean water to as many people as possible around the world.

Artificial intelligence: Google’s AlphaGo beats Go master Lee Se-dol
A computer program has beaten a master Go player 3-0 in a best-of-five competition, in what is seen as a landmark moment for artificial intelligence (人工智能).
Googles AlphaGo program was playing against Lee Se-dol in Seoul, in South Korea.
Mr Lee had been confident he would win before the competition started.
“AlphaGo played consistently (穩(wěn)定地) from beginning to the end while Lee, as he is only human, showed some mental weakness,” one of Lees coaches, Kwon Kap-Yong, told the AFP news agency.
Mr Lee is considered as a successful Go player, having won many competitions in his career.
Go is a game of two players who take turns putting black or white stones on a 19-by-19 grid (棋格). Players win by surrounding their competitors pieces with their own.
In the first game of the series (系列賽), AlphaGo won by a very small chance – Mr Lee had led for most of the match, but AlphaGo managed to build up a strong lead in its closing stages.
After losing the second match to DeepMind, Lee Se-dol said he was “speechless” adding that the AlphaGo machine played a “nearly perfect game”.
Experts said that Lee Se-dol had brought his “top game” but that AlphaGo had won “in great style”.
The AlphaGo system was developed by British computer company DeepMind which was bought by Google in 2014. It has built up its special skills by studying older games and teasing
“It played itself, millions and millions of times and each time got a little better – it learns from its mistakes,” he told the BBC before the matches started.
This good circle of continuous improvement meant the super computer went into the five-match series stronger than when it beat the European player late last year.
Does this mean artificial intelligence is now smarter than us and will kill us humans? Certainly not. AlphaGo doesnt care if it wins or loses. Does it mean that artificial intelligence will soon take your job? Possibly you should be more worried about that.
【1】What had Lee Se-dol thought about the competition before it started?
A.He would beat AlphaGo.
B.AlphaGo would lead the match.
C.It was hard to tell who would win.
D.AlphaGo would have some weakness.
【2】What happened in the first game of the series?
A.Mr Lee won by a very small chance.
B.AlphaGo had led for most of the match.
C.Mr Lee was beaten by AlphaGo finally.
D.AlphaGo built up a strong lead at the beginning.
【3】What does the underlined phrase “teasing out” probably mean?
A.Giving out. B.Working out.
C.Running out. D.Pointing out.
【4】The writer may agree that ______ in the future.
A.human will be killed by artificial intelligence
B.artificial intelligence will do everyt hing for human
C.people might lose jobs because of artificial intelligence
D.artificial intelligence will be much smarter than human/p>
