【題目】—I don’t have a partner to practice English ________.

—Why not join an English language club to practice ________?

A./; speakingB.with; to speakC.with; speaking

【答案】C

【解析】

句意:——我沒有搭檔可以練習(xí)英語。——為什么不參加英語俱樂部練習(xí)口語呢?

考查非謂語動詞。上句中的動詞不定式to practice English作定語修飾a partner,不定式后要帶上與之搭配的介詞,即practice sth with sb和某人練習(xí)某事,故第一個空格處應(yīng)為介詞with;下句中應(yīng)為practice doing sth練習(xí)做某事,其后應(yīng)接動詞的ing形式,即practice speaking。故選C

【題目】 Shyness means feeling frightened when you’re around other people. Some children are born shy. Some become very shy later because of their life experience. In fact, everybody gets a little shy sometimes. It’s just how much they feel shy.

Most people have red faces and talk in broken sentences when they are shy. But some become so shy that they won’t go to a restaurant because they are too nervous to order and pay for their food. Some are afraid of meeting new people, so they seldom go outside. This kind of shyness can be bad for a person.

如果害羞并沒有讓你不能去做你想做的事, being shy isn’t a big problem. Some experts say shy people are good at working because they think and less. But remember not to let good opportunities(機(jī)會) pass you by just because of it. If you have to sing a song at a birthday party or give some performances in front of others, just do it. There’s nothing for you to be afraid of.

【題目】 Marco Polo was born in Italy in 1254. When he was 17, he travelled across Europe and Asia with his father, who wanted to do trade with the Chinese. Finally they arrived in Beijing. They were guests at the Emperor's Palace. Although Marco Polo was young, he was very clever and could speak some foreign languages. The Emperor was impressed by him. He asked Marco Polo to serve in his court (宮廷) and sent him to do many important tasks across the country.

Before 1870, there were no soccer uniforms. Players wore their own clothes, which made 1hard to know which team they were on. The first soccer uniform had long shorts. Players wore formal shirts 2collars( 領(lǐng) ) and buttons. The whole uniform was made3heavy cloth, such as wool. Players then put on soccer boots(靴子) that went up over their ankles(腳踝).

Soccer uniforms have changed many times through the years. The shorts are4than before, and the whole uniform is made out of light cloth. This keeps soccer players cool as they run. Instead of boots, soccer players wear soft shoes. Each team now has its own colors. For example, players on the Brazilian soccer team wear bright yellow and green shirts, blue shorts, and white socks. Sports teams need uniforms5are not only practical but also in fashion!
