【題目】根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容回答問題。

On January 27, in order to win the new pneumonia Resistance War ( 戰(zhàn) ), the Ministry of Education issued ( ) a notice on putting off the start time of school in spring 2020. It was said that school should not start before February 17. The exact start time of school will depend on situations and further notices.

However, many parents are very worried that putting off the start of school may affect children’s studies. If they have such a long winter vacation, children will not learn any knowledge, read books or study at all. They may forget what they have learned before. Staying at home for a long time will make them keep eating, sleeping and playing, which seriously affect their physical and mental health.

In short, the close of school influences learning and develops bad habits, so how should we avoid these problems? Local education departments have also issued a notice, that is, to organize online teaching and create a network platform (平臺(tái)), where necessary courses will be shown every day, and online teaching will be given by excellent teachers of the subject, and students can learn at home through computer or mobile network.

It should be said that such a method is very good. It can not only keep students indoors and not worry about the infection ( 感染) of the disease, but also make them study at home, improve their learning ability, and truly achieve “no suspension of classes”. Both the platform itself and the recorded lesson resources are more useful, and are welcomed by parents and teachers.

Of course, except for learning at home, it is also necessary to teach children about health knowledge, especially how to keep away from touching virus and other knowledge popularization; At the same time, it is also necessary for children to do some physical exercises or some games, which is good for physical health at home.

【題目】 Few people refuse to look at pictures of cute animals. Take Sally chicken as an example. The chicken with a yellow body and a flat mouth always looks lovely, which makes it popular on the Internet. Seeing her cute picture cheers people up. But there's another advantage of cute animals.

New research has found that looking at pictures of cute animals can also help us concentrate(聚精會(huì)神)better.

The study comes from researchers at Hiroshima University in Japan. They invited 132 university students to take part in a series of experiments.

In one experiment, students played a game in which they had to pick up small objects from a hole without touching the sides. In another experiment, students were asked to find a given number from a list of numbers quickly.

In both experiments, they did the given tasks twice – before and after looking at pictures of either kittens (baby cats) and puppies (baby dogs), or adult cats and dogs.

Researchers were surprised to find that in both cases students who were shown cute baby animal pictures made fewer mistakes.

But, baby animals look both "cuter" and "more pleasant" than adult animals. Some people may ask whether the test difference came from their being "pleasant"?

To find the answer, the researchers chose some food pictures which looked pleasant but not cute, and gave them to a third group of students. But viewing the foods did not make the students do any better in the number test.

This finding shows that viewing cute pictures makes participants(參與者)behave more deliberately and do tasks with greater care.

The "power of cuteness" may be of great use in everyday life.

Think about situations in which people need to act carefully: driving, office work and exams.

"In my first year of high school, I brought small plastic toys to school during tests. I would set them up in a row on my desk, facing me, and then get busy with answering exam questions," Susana Martinez-Conde wrote in Scientific American.

1Why is Sally chicken mentioned at the beginning of the article?

A.Because the article is about Sally chicken.

B.Because Sally chicken is popular online.

C.To explain why Sally chicken is popular.

D.To introduce the topic of cute animals' advantage.

2What was the main finding of the study at Hiroshima University?

A.Seeing cute animals could cheer people up.

B.Seeing cute things could help people concentrate.

C.People concentrated better after seeing anything pleasant.

D.People did better after seeing pictures of adult cats and dogs.

3The underlined word "deliberately" is closest in meaning to________ .

A.happilyB.relaxedlyC.carefullyD.actively

4What do Martinez-Conde's words tell us?

A.It's improper to look at toys in an exam.

B.Cuteness can be very useful in daily life.

C.Toys are popular among high school students.

D.All Cute toys can help students get good scores.

【題目】閱讀下面短文,根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容完成表格中所缺信息,每空一詞。

When it comes to judgement (評(píng)價(jià)) of their bodies, women can’t win. I spoke to two women who were shamed for being fat, and after losing weight, shamed for being fit.

Sarah Moore is a 29-year-old mother of three children from Indiana, US. She became a personal trainer after losing more than 45 kg. She remembers the fat-shaming that happened to her before her weight loss. When waiting to get on a roller coaster, people behind her were complaining about the wait, and the person who worked there said, “Don’t worry. She’s probably not going to fit on here, and you’ll be next.” But after losing weight, Moore said people commented (評(píng)論) on her body even more. “Now I get comments like, ‘Are you sure you can eat that?’ I think they’re worried I’ll get the weight back,” she said. How does it make her feel? “Fat-shaming brought me sadness and I couldn’t get any help. Fit-shaming makes me feel angry,” she said.

Changes in body weight can also influence relationships. It can break the balance because people who lose weight can not only become more confident but also be the envy of others.

Fit-shaming has been more difficult to deal with for Andrea Sereda, a 38-year-old social worker in Canada. She said judgement of her body is something she’s faced for years. Sereda said that when she was 9, her grandfather said to her at a birthday party, “I don’t think you should eat cake,” and made comments about how many calories each bite had inside as she ate it. The judgement of Sereda’s body increased after she lost 57 kg. Closer friends seemed to compare their own bodies negatively (消極的) with Sereda’s new body type. “I am afraid of going out and having to deal with all these comments,” Sereda said.

Let us try to understand that just because someone has lost weight, it doesn’t make them fair game (可抨擊的對(duì)象) for comments on their new shapes. Everyone should live free of being body shamed, paying no attention to how they look.
