【題目】Most of us use alarm clocks to wake up at the right time for school or work. We look at our watches to know the right time for the bus or train. However, there is also a right time to eat, sleep, exercise, and take medicine. We can’t look at a clock for the right time for these activities. We must listen to the clock inside our bodies: the biological(adj.生物的) clock.

Barbara Wells exercised every morning. She woke up at 6:00 a.m. She ran about two miles before she went to work. But Barbara’s legs and back started to hurt. She did some exercise before she ran. But her legs and back still hurt. She ran slower, but the pain didn’t stop. Barbara talked to her doctor. The doctor said, “Don’t run in the morning. Try to exercise later in the day. That is the time when your body is at the right temperature for exercise after work.” Her legs and back didn’t hurt anymore.

Today, doctors are learning more about chronobiology(n.生物鐘學(xué)), the study of biological clocks. They are learning about the importance of time for our bodies. For example, it is best for people to go to sleep on time every night and to eat only when they’re hungry. Also, doctors discovered that some illnesses, such as heat attacks, occur(v.發(fā)生)most often in the morning. This information tells them that the best time to take heart medication may be at night. When patients take heart medication at night, they may prevent a heart attack in the morning.

Many doctors believe chronobiology(生物鐘) can help us live healthier lives. It may be the right time to listen to these doctors!

【題目】Look at your classmates around you. You all wear the same uniform and similar shoes, even similar haircut. Do you want to be different from them? A fashionable and useful backpack can be a great idea!

Backpacks are lightweight and easy to carry on then go. They are great tools for students. They help you to stay organized and tidy. You can keep school things, books and personal items like cell phones and keys neatly(整潔地). With a special and cool backpack, you can also stand out among your classmates.

Tourists also love backpacks. With convenient backpacks, backpackers can move freely from one place to another. Meanwhile, they can also free their hands to do other things like taking photos.

But in the very beginning backpacks were not what we see today.

It is thought that US hiker Dick Kelty invented the first modern backpack in 1951. He used nylon(尼龍) to make backpacks lightweight. Then he added shoulder straps(帶子) and waist straps to transfer much of the weight to the hips(臀部).

Today, backpacks come in different styles.

Rolling backpacks have wheels on the bottom. Users can pull them along the ground if they are too heavy to carry on their shoulders.

And with more people bringing notebook computers to school and work, backpacks also offer space for lightweight electronics. Most of them are in style and can be in good use.

【題目】In one way of thinking, failure is part of life. In a1way, failure may be a way towards success. Edison, the i2of the light bulb(燈泡), made hundreds of models that failed before he found the right way to make one. Once he was asked w3he kept on trying to make a new type of battery when he had failed so often, he smiled and said, “Failure? I have no failure. Now I know 50,000 ways that won't w4.

So what? First, always think about your failure. What caused it?Were conditions right? Were you in top from yourself? What can you change? Then you can decide w5to keep on working hard or try it in a better way, and things will probably not go wrong n6time.

Second, is the goal you're trying to reach the right one? Try to do some thinking about what your real goals may be. Think c7about this question. “If I am able to achieve my goal, where will it get me?" This may help you prevent failure in things you shouldn't be doing anyway.

The t8thing to keep in mind about failure is that it's mother of success. Don’t give up easily. Learn to “l(fā)ive with yourself" even t9you may have failed. Maybe this will help you s10in what you are doing in the end.
