【題目】
After a terrible experience, most survivors(生存者) can be expected to recover(恢復(fù)) over time, especially with the support of family and friends. Some families will be able to return to their normal life quickly, while children will need time to recover from the loss of a loved one or a pet or from the closing down of their school.
Children often turn to adults for information, comfort and help. Parents should try to stay calm, answer children’s questions honestly and remain understanding when they see changes in their children’s behavior.
Children react differently depending on their ages and experiences. Some will keep silent, while others will have bad dreams. Parents should watch each child’s reactions, spend time talking, letting them know that it’s OK to ask questions and to share their worries. Although it may be hard to find time to have these talks, parents can use family mealtime or bedtime for them. They should answer questions honestly and ask their children for their opinions and ideas. Issues may come up more than once and parents should be patient when you answer the questions again. For young children, parents might read a favorite story or have a family activity to help them calm down after talking. Parents should also tell children they are safe and spend more time with them. They could play games outside or together indoors. Most importantly, be sure to tell them you love them.

【題目】
Lois Gibson will never forget that day. One evening nearly 40 years ago, a man broke into her house. He asked Gibson to give him all her money. After Gibson refused, the man almost put her to death. Luckily, Gibson was released at last. She was too afraid to call the police. The second day while driving, Gibson turned onto a wrong street. There, she happened to see the man being caught. Suddenly, Gibson saw a reason to return to school and learn more about art.
Four years later, Gibson became a forensic artist(罪犯素描師). Now 65, she has had an excellent job. Over the past 33 years, the artist has drawn thousands of suspects(嫌疑犯). About 30 percent of these drawings are helpful. No one in the world has done better.
Gibson still remembers the first time she tried to draw a suspect. She talked to a young man who had seen a killer. The man was too excited and Gibson couldn’t finish her drawing. The suspect looked like he was eating a lemon. However, just a day later, a policeman told Gibson that her drawing had helped solve the case. “I thought, if that terrible drawing stopped a bad guy—like the man who tried to kill me—I’m never going to stop,” Gibson says.
There is never a day that goes by when Gibson isn’t drawing a suspect. The artist says she wants to help those people feel better about something they are never going to forget. “When they see the drawing, they see hope for justice(正義),” she says.
Some of Gibson’s friends expect her to create the beautiful, just like other artists. She doesn’t. Why? “You’ll lose yourself if you catch one suspect,” she says. “You want to get another.”
