【題目】 When 4-year-old British Prince George started his first day of school in September, 2017, Chinese language was in his course.
And he wasn’t alone. According to a report published by the British Council in September, about 51 percent of UK parents want their children to learn Chinese, as it’s believed to be one of the most useful languages to know.
In fact, the popularity of Chinese drove the UK government to launch the Mandarin Excellence Program in September last year. Its aim is to make at least 5,000 British state secondary school students speak Chinese very well by 2020.
The language has become the second most spoken foreign language in the US, after only Spanish (西班牙), according to a survey by 24/7 Wall St, a US financial news website.
Many US famous persons such as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Malia Obama, US President Barack Obama’s daughter, study Chinese as a second language.
So far, 67 countries have included Chinese in their national course, so why are so many countries interested in learning Chinese?
One reason could be that as China continues to develop quickly, Chinese is increasingly becoming a useful tool for people’s personal and professional growth. “I think everyone believes that China will be the next great superpower…even if it’s not a superpower like America. It’s still significant,” said Aisling McCaffrey from Canada, who studied at the Renmin University of China. “Learning Chinese is the best way to make sure that you can be part of that growth.”
This opinion was shared by British Prime Minister David Cameron, who encouraged British students to learn Chinese to “seal tomorrow’s business deals” in 2013.

【題目】根據(jù)短文內容,完成圖表中所缺信息。
Christmas is one of the happiest times of the year. It’s time we spend with family members, giving gifts to each other and eating plenty of delicious food. However, at the same time it can also be a nervous time. You have to spend much time and money planing and buying presents for everyone. You need to clean the rooms or even clear some of them out and put up the Christmas tree, the decorations and the balloons. And you have to communicate with your friends and relatives whom you perhaps wouldn’t usually spend so much time with. So what can we do to deal with these things to enjoy the happy season to the fullest?
Usually, you have to face the busy shops to do your Christmas shopping during this holiday. That can make you stressed out. To stay calm (冷靜的) during this holiday, you can start your shopping early. In other words, you can buy presents for people before Christmas comes so that you can save yourself some money. What’s more, you can buy your presents on the Internet, which means that you can find anything you can think of, and you can do it in your living room. It’s much cheaper, so you can save money.
Did you once drink more than usual, eat cakes you didn’t want or do something else which leave you feeling tired? Remember that it’s your right to enjoy Christmas the way you want to and that you should take no notice of those who tell you that you’re not being Christmassy.
Finally, you’d better have low expectations (期望). If your expectations are high, you will make yourself upset. Don’t let yourself be pressured (迫使) into making the Christmas perfect. So, just be satisfied to have a pleasant evening with your family and let what happens happen.
How to solve Christmas 【1】 | |

【題目】 It can't be true that when in Rome, do as the Romans do. So it's necessary for you to know what you can talk about with the local people in other countries.
In France
You'll find that conversations often turn into heated discussions. You'd better give opinions only on subjects that you are knowledgeable about. There is seldom a moment of silence, except when the topic under discussion has been finished, and nothing new has been introduced.
Food, art, music and current events or history are welcome topics. The French believe in freedom, and you can criticize(批評)anyone, but not Napoleon, who stands for the French spirit. Moreover, never use the conversation opener “What do you do?”
In Australia
Generally speaking, the Australians are excited about discussions. Many topics may be open to discussion, including religion and politics. The best way, however, is to wait for Australians to bring up these two subjects; be prepared to listen to what they are talking about. The Australians like to criticize themselves, but they can't stand being criticized by others. Don't talk big. The Australians prefer to judge (判斷) your abilities through your actions. People who show off their education in conversation may be laughed at.
1題判斷正誤, 2題簡略回答, 3題將文中畫線句子譯成漢語。
【1】In Australia, people can be criticized by others.
