【題目】 Famous and rich people can usually afford a nice home, a comfortable bed and delicious food. But on November 15, 2015, two famous people called Dickinson and Burke slept outside on the ground in only sleeping bags. That night, it was cold and the temperature dropped to zero degree.

If we agree that education is used to prepare us for life, then there is very little time to waste. So, while we can, we should teach children something really useful. 1.

Politeness is a mark of civilization(文明). The sooner children learn this, the better.2 .

Like it or not, our adults work hard for money, but we don’t make an effort to teach children how to manage it. So our schools have a duty to teach them this ability from the beginning.

We’re likely to accept something we are told, but that’s not what educated people do. Educated people are reasonable(理性的) and they look at facts.3.

4. They should know that if they eat junk food(垃圾食品), they will become fat and unhealthy. They should be very clear about what happens to their bodies when they drink or smoke.

All of us are part of society. We have rights and duties. 5. We have to know a little bit of history and geography, because we need to have an environment in which to communicate with the people around us.

In a word, our schools should spend every moment they have telling this to our children: “This is life, this is what you are going to face, and this is how you deal with it.”

A.Children should learn to take care of their health.

B.We should understand what they are.

C.Here is what our school should teach.

D.In any case, a lot can be achieved by a smile and good manners.

E.So our school have a duty to teach them how to make money.

【題目】 The trees have been on the earth for millions of years.1Disease(疾病) is destroying trees. For example, in the 1970s, many trees in Europe were killed by disease.

2This new danger attacks all the forests and woods of Europe from northern Sweden to southern Italy. First the branches turn yellow and brown. Then the trees’ leaves fall. The roots and the trunk shrink(萎縮). Finally the trees die. In the Black Forest in southern Germany, 75of the trees have been destroyed or killed

3Nobody knows exactly, but it is probably air pollution or acid rain(酸雨). Factories, power stations and cars give off tons of smoke with acid into the air. Sunlight turns these into something harmful which fall with rain or snow onto the trees.

What can be done about acid rain?4

Acid rain doesn’t always fall on the countries which produce the pollution. The wind carries it from one country to another. Badly, the governments don’ t want to spend money on it if it won’ t harm the trees in their own countries.

5The rainforests of Asia and South America are being cut down for firewood and building materials. Something must be done. If the trees die, we will, too.

根據(jù)材料內(nèi)容,從下面五個選項中選出能填入文中空缺處的最佳選項,使短文意思通順,內(nèi)容完整。

A.What is killing the trees?

B.But today trees are in great danger.

C.Trees are also killed by people.

D.Now an even greater danger is destroying trees.

E.Why don’t the governments do something to save the trees?

【題目】閱讀短文,根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容回答問題。

Maya Penn, 14 years old, set up her eco-fashion line, Maya’s Ideas, when she was eight years old. She has spent much of the past six years designing and hand-making clothing out of cotton, bamboo, silk and wool. “No matter how big my collection grows,” she says, “I will always use eco-friendly materials to make the products.”

She gives 10 to 20 percent of her company’s profits (利潤) to some non-profit organizations (組織). In 2011, when she had too many ideas to have them in a clothing line, she founded her own non-profit organization, Maya’s Ideas for the Planet. Her sincere hope is to encourage others. Maya’s message is that you (yes, you!) can make a difference, no matter how small. We do not all have to design clothing lines and start non-profit organizations by the time we’re 14.

A few years ago, when she read about a local reuse-and-recycle event in the newspapers, she made flyers to put up around the city even though she was not the organizer. Now, she often visits schools to talk to students about environmental problems. Luckily for the planet, her creativity and interest for life is focused on environment protection. She has written two children’s books with environmental messages. These are printed on recycled paper.

In addition, Maya already finds something common that almost every environmentalist has in his or her life. She says that during her school visits, she has met a lot of young people who care but don’t know what to do. What’s going on in the environment seems like such a big matter that they feel they have to perform a big action, and they don’t know what that action should be.

This problem that whatever we do is too little to matter. “The reason it seems like there’s nothing happening,” she says, is because people are afraid to do anything they think won’t have results.

A small action leads to a big change, she says. “It has a ripple effect (連鎖反應(yīng)), whether that person knows it. You may be afraid to do anything but you don’t need to have a lot of confidence to do something.
