【題目】 I once had a teacher whose husband died suddenly of heart attack. About a week after his death, she shared some of her thoughts with a classroom of students. As the late afternoon sunlight shone through the classroom windows, and when the class was nearly over, she moved a few things aside on the edge of her desk and sat down.
With a gentle look on her face, she paused and said, “ Before class is over, I’d like to share with all of you a deep understanding which I feel is very important. Each of us is put here on earth to learn, share, love, appreciate and give of ourselves. None of us knows when this fantastic experience will end. It can be taken away at any moment. Perhaps this is the God’s way of telling us that we must make full use of every single day.”
Her eyes were beginning to water, but she went on, “So I would like you all to make me a promise: From now on, on your way to school, or on your way home, find something beautiful to enjoy. It doesn’t have to be something you see. It could be a smell of freshly baked bread floating out of someone’s house, or it could be the sound of the soft wind rustling(沙沙作響)the leaves in the trees…Please look for these things, and appreciate them, for at anytime it can all be taken away.’’
The class was completely quiet. We all picked up our books and went out of the room silently.
That afternoon, I observed many more beautiful things on my way home from school than usual.
Remember: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

【題目】 It has long been considered one of the best companies, but do you have what it takes to work for Google?
It may take a sharp mind, as an American author says that the search engine giant (搜索引擎巨人) asks its interviewees to answer difficult question.
William Poundstone believes that he has unlocked the secret of how to succeed in an interview at Google in a new book, Are You Smart Enough to Work at Google?
Poundstone lists several of the brain teasers (腦筋急轉(zhuǎn)彎) that are said to be used by Google interviewers, from “can you swim faster in water or in syrup (糖漿)?” to “how would you weigh your head?”
Poundstone told ABC News that any Google’s questions are open-ended on purpose. The interviewer’s goal is to see how the thinking process of the applicant (應(yīng)聘者) works, and to test his or her creativity when solving problems. He suggests the applicant should “retell the question” in their own words, as doing so gives them time to think and makes sure that they understand what is being asked.
Some of Google’s brain teasers:
* Why are manhole covers (下水道井蓋) round?
* How much toilet paper would you need to cover Texas?
* You are shrunk (縮小) to the height of a nickel (五分硬幣) and thrown in a blender (攪拌機(jī)).
The blades (刀片) start moving in 60 seconds. What do you do?
