I ______ my answers ______the teacher’s and found I had made a mistake.

【答案】

1Go through

2Since then

3once again

4turned off

5compared with

【解析】

1根據(jù)所給漢語意思可知,應該填的是穿過,由后面的and we’ll see the house on your left可知,應該是祈使句,動詞原形放在句首,go through“穿過”,從內部穿過,go across“穿過”,因為穿過門,是內部穿過,所以用go through,故填(1).Go (2).through。

2根據(jù)所給漢語意思可知,應該填的是從那以后,由后面的we have lived far apart and never seen each other again可知,應該用的是since“自從”,then意為“那時”,故填(1).Since (2).then。

相比較,compare……with……意為“把……和……相比較”,由后面的found I had made a mistake可知,時態(tài)是一般過去時,compare的過去式是compared,故填(1).compared (2).with。

【題目】 Posted on 25 March by Selina

I used to shower with soap every day,but my skin(皮膚)always felt dry and itchy(發(fā)癢的). Then two months ago, I heard of the no-soap movement. Since then, I’ve given up using soap in the shower. I still shower every day. I just don't use soap because it's filled with chemicals.

So, what's so bad about using soap? Well, the chemicals in soaps can be harmful to our health. So, if we use soap, our skin will take in the chemicals, which will then end up in our bodies. According to the scientists, some of the chemicals used in a soap are quite dangerous. During my research, I also learnt that soap removes moisture(水分)from the body. This is actually why my skin was so dry and itchy.

Getting used to washing my body without soap was a huge change. For the first week, I felt a bit dirty and I didn't smell great, either. However, during the second week, my skin felt clean without strange smell. Best of all, my skin problems disappeared, and now I have softer and healthier skin.

On the whole, going soap-free has not only saved me time and money, but has also improved my skin. What's more, this experience has made me take a look at some of the other products I use in the shower, such as shampoo. More about that in my next blog!

1What do people do when they join the no-soap movement?

A.Have a shower only a week.B.Never use soap when having a shower.

C.Throw away all the soap they have.D.Make soap on their own instead of buying it.

2Why does Selina’s skin always feel dry and itchy according to the reading?

A.Because she takes showers too often.B.Because she often showers at a high heat.

C.Because the soap she uses smells terribleD.Because soap takes away her moisture.

3What happened to Selina during the second week?

A.She smelt bad but felt clean.B.She felt dirty but smelt great.

C.She smelt normal and felt clean.D.She felt dry and smelt strange.

4What might Selina write in her next blog?

A.When and how the shampoo was invented.B.Where and when her shampoo was brought.

C.How she enjoys the shower with shampoo.D.What she thinks of shampoo in the shower.

The students' answers were different, from 20 g to 500 g. "It does not matter on the weight itself. It depends onhow long you hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it is OK. 科目:初中英語 來源: 題型:

【題目】 Old habits, especially bad ones, can be hard to break.

People often make fun of New Year's resolutions (決心). However, resolutions present a big opportunity for self-improvement. Fortunately, social science has some ideas about how to start a good habit and stick to it.

Gary Charness and Uri Gneezy, two scientists at the University of Chicago, did some research, where 120 students were asked to take part in an experiment about exercise habits, and each of them would get $175 in the end. The students were randomly assigned (隨機分配) to three groups. The first group got the money for just giving researchers permission (允許) to record their gym attendance. The second group gave permission, but had to go to the gym at least once the next month. The final group gave permission and had to go to the gym eight times that month.

Unsurprisingly, the group that had to make eight gym visits to get paid exercised more than the other two groups. After the payments stopped, these students kept going to the gym at higher rates (頻率). They went to the gym about twice as often as the other two groups.

In another study, researchers invited 151 students to work out in the gym, and randomly assigned 75 to a “temptation-bundling” group. As they exercised, they listened to the start of an attractive audio-novel (有聲小說). At the end of their workout, students were told that if they wanted to hear what happened next in their book, they would have to come back to the gym. They could only listen to the audio-book while exercising. The other 76 students also completed the first workout but without any kind of temptation bundle.

It turned out that the students in the temptation-bundling group visited the gym 27% more often than the control group over the next seven weeks. Sadly, the temptation-bundling trick fell apart over the Thanksgiving holiday when the gym was closed.

The studies show that trying something new quite often for as little as a month can kick-start a lasting change in behavior. Moreover, “temptation-bundling” may also be a useful method for changing behavior, particularly when used together with other methods. Even if you cannot promise yourself to stick with something for long, there is a huge benefit in putting in a lot of energy for a few weeks. It may pay off for longer than you think. So, why not challenge yourself with next New Year's resolution?

1What can we learn from the two studies?

A.The students got different payments according to their gym attendance.

B.The temptation-bundling group loved audio-novels more than the other group.

C.27% of students in the temptation-bundling group exercised more often than before.

D.The students who exercised more often at first were more likely to keep working out.

2The third paragraph is mainly about __________.

A.how the research was performedB.what was found in the research

C.why the scientists did the researchD.who took part in the research

3The underlined word “temptation-bundling” in Paragraph 5 probably means __________.

A.forming new habits by trying something you didn't like before

B.connecting something you like with something you have to do

C.improving your workout skills by listening to audio-books

D.pushing yourself by doing two tasks at the same time

4What is the writer's main purpose in writing this passage?

A.To encourage people to go to the gym more often.

B.To present a new way to do scientific research.

C.To offer advice on how to develop a good habit.

D.To stress the importance of New Year's resolutions.
