【題目】閱讀下面的短文并用英語回答問題,并將答案寫在答題卷上標(biāo)有題號(hào)的橫線上。

Tom Jenkins enjoyed fishing and spent most of his time by the river.

He enjoyed being in the fresh air and being on his own. There was no one to trouble him and the time passed happily for him.

Unluckily, he was not a very good fisherman. He either fished in the wrong place, used the wrong bait(魚餌)or pulled in his line too quickly. Whatever the reason was, he never caught anything big enough to eat.

However, he did not like to admit this to his wife. He thought she would complain if she knew he was wasting his time. She would try to stop him from going fishing. She might even make him take her shopping. It was very important to Tom, therefore, that she thought he was a good fisherman.

For this reason, on the way home from the river he always visited the local fish shop and bought something. Then he told his wife he had caught it and they had a good fish for their dinner.

One evening, after yet another day's unsuccessful fishing, Tom stopped at the fish shop as usual on his way home. "I'll have three perch(鱸魚), please," he said to the shopkeeper. "And throw them to me, as usual, so I can tell my wife I caught them."

The shopkeeper laughed and said, "I suggest you take a nice salmon(鮭魚)instead."

"Oh why?"

"Your wife came in an hour ago and said, "When Tom comes in, make sure he 'catches' a salmon."

【題目】As we all know, the Lantern Festival is on the 15th of the first lunar month, meaning the end of the Spring Festival celebrations. Studying in Chinatown, California, I couldn’t celebrate it with my family, so after discussing with my friends, we decided to cook a dinner together.

We bought the meat and vegetables from the market and started to cook at around five in the afternoon. My friends Tony and Chen Qifan acted as cooks for the day.

In the kitchen, the sounds of knives cutting and water splashing (飛濺) reminded me of being back in my hometown. Right away these sounds made me think of my grandma preparing the pork and my mom washing the cabbages for our meal.So did my friends.

“Dinner!” shouted Qifan as the last dish was placed on the table. As the smell of spices and meat filled the air, we couldn’t wait to start eating. Once we began, the different taste preferences among my friends from different regions of China became obvious.

Although I come from Shanxi, a place famous for its mature vinegar (陳醋), I never knew that crab meat dipped in vinegar and ginger () was so tasty. This combination was not only delicious but also healthy. We exchanged information about our diet habits and cultures and were surprised by the many small differences. The whole room was filled with laughter and the sounds of colliding (碰撞) chopsticks and bowls.

On the way home, the laughter still rang through my head – I can’t imagine life without my dearest friends. I’ll probably forget all the physics equations (方程式) or how to pass chemistry but I’ll never forget the time I’ve spent with my friends.

The stranger helped Simmons understand them, so he could later teach his son. The moment was captured by Denise Wilson, who was heading home from her job and saw the pair doing homework. She posted the photo online. “I really love seeing things like this especially in New York,” she wrote. “To be a dad…and put down his pride and learn from a complete stranger… it was really a moving moment.”
