Nowadays, the environmental problems are becoming more and more serious. For example, the air is badly polluted. And people are throwing litter into the river. The river is full of rubbish so that there are no more fish for fisherman to catch. Besides, people also throw away the rubbish in public places. This is turning beautiful places into ugly ones. In order to protect the environment, we should do something we can to save the earth.

First of all, we should encourage people to use public transportation. To cut down air pollution, we’d better ride bikes or walk instead of driving. Riding bikes is not only good for heath, but also costs nothing. Secondly, we should write to the government and ask them to punish the factories which are putting waste water into the river against laws. Everyone should play a part in cleaning it up. What’s more, it’s necessary to educate people to classify garbage and recycle books and paper. I think it’s a great idea that we now pay for plastic bags when shopping. Last but not least, I suggest saving electricity by turning off the lights when you leave a room. These small things can also improve the environment.

So together, our actions can make a difference and lead to a better future.
