【題目】In our increasingly fast-paced world, most adults do not get the 8-10 hours of sleep every night. Things are even worse for those with young children. A recent study showed that about 26% of parents in the United Kingdom get less than 5 hours of sleep every night. To make tired adults relax for a while, David Lloyd Clubs, a chain of gyms and fitness centers in the UK, has introduced a napping (小睡) class is called “Nap-Ercise”.

As the name suggests, the hour-long group class, as a way to “reinvigorate (使再振作) the mind and improve moods”, does not have any exercise. Instead, clients (顧客) are guided through 15 minutes of light stretching (拉伸) to help them relax. Then, they are encouraged to cuddle (依偎) under the blankets of a comfortable bed, cover their eyes with an eye mask, and take a nap for 45 minutes. With music playing and the room set to the perfect temperature, clients can have the best possible sleep. The class is currently being offered at just one place. If popular, they will be given to more other David Lloyd Clubs.

Although the class sounds like a marketing plan, there might be some science behind it. According to a study done at the Allegheny College in Pennsylvania, participants who took a 45-minute nap in the middle of their day not only help them feel well-rested, but also deal with stress better than those who didn’t. And a different study from the University of California at Berkeley showed that a 45-minute nap in the middle of the day helps to improve learning abilities.

D. There will be the napping class in more David Lloyd Clubs.

【題目】According to the World Happiness Report, people who live in Denmark (丹麥) are the happiest in the world. Why? Because they know the secret to happiness—“hygge”. But what is “hygge”?

The Danish (丹麥的) word “hygge” (pronounced “hooga”) is often translated(翻譯) in English as “coziness”. But coziness paints only part of the picture. It's also about spending peaceful time in a quiet environment with no calendar. It's about spending time alone or spending time with family.

Danish people are very good at “hygge”. For example, they create a “hygge” environment by burning candles in classrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, etc. According to some reports, Danish people burn more candles every year than people from any other European country.

However, “hygge” isn't just about creating a nice and warm environment; it is best enjoyed with family members and friends. With up to 17 hours of darkness every day in winter, Danish people spend more time indoors as a result, and they often get together for a meal or hot drinks, without the distraction(使人分心的事物) of technology or the stress of daily life.
