【題目】 Do you know crosstalk? It's also known by its Chinese name xiangsheng. It is a famous Chinese show in the form(形式) of a dialogue usually between two people. It came into being in Beijing in the late Qing Dynasty (the mid-19th century). It began as a form of street show, and it also borrowed from other arts, such as Beijing Opera. No matter what the form is, the crosstalk show just wants to make people laugh.
Crosstalk is one of China's most important and popular performing arts. Modern crosstalk usually has four skills—speaking, imitating(模仿), teasing(逗樂(lè)) and singing. Some stories come from everyday life, popular ideas and hot news. Some come from history stories. During the show, sometimes one actor is angry with the other because of their different ideas. Crosstalk is full of fun with singing, different sounds, musical instruments, and even crying. So if something makes you unhappy, you can enjoy crosstalk.

【1】詞義猜測(cè)題。根據(jù)單詞所在的語(yǔ)境 “It is a famous Chinese show in the form(形式) of a dialogue usually between two people.”“它是著名的中國(guó)節(jié)目,形式通常是兩人之間的……”,結(jié)合常識(shí)可知,相聲是兩人之間的對(duì)話,因此dialogue意為“對(duì)話”,故選C。
【2】細(xì)節(jié)理解題。根據(jù)短文第一段 “It came into being in Beijing in the late Qing Dynasty (the mid-19th century).”可知,相聲形成于晚清時(shí)期,大概在19世紀(jì)中期。選項(xiàng)中B選項(xiàng)1850符合文意,故選B。
【3】細(xì)節(jié)理解題。根據(jù)短文第二段 “Modern crosstalk usually has four skills—speaking, imitating(模仿), teasing(逗樂(lè)) and singing.”可知,現(xiàn)代相聲的四項(xiàng)基本技能是說(shuō)、學(xué)、逗、唱。故選A。

【5】推理判斷題。根據(jù)短文第二段 “Some stories come from everyday life, popular ideas and hot news. Some come from history stories”可知,相聲素材來(lái)自日常生活、流行的一些觀念和熱點(diǎn)新聞,還有些來(lái)自歷史故事,B選項(xiàng)符合文意,故選B。根據(jù)第一段中 “and it also borrowed from other arts, such as Beijing Opera.”可知A不對(duì);根據(jù)第一段的最后 “the crosstalk show just wants to make people laugh.”可知C不對(duì);根據(jù)第一段 “It came into being in Beijing in the late Qing Dynasty (the mid-19th century).”可知,相聲是在19世紀(jì)中期形成的,距今大約160年的歷史,沒有300年,故D不對(duì)。

【題目】 Do you know there is a connection between music and language? You may not believe it. But recent studies give us the answer: Music can improve certain language abilities in the brain. Now, let's look at two examples.
Recently, researcher Kris has done a research which shows that playing a musical instrument can improve a person's hearing ability. In his study, he divided the people into two groups. The people in the first group were musicians, while those in the other group had no musical training. He asked these people to listen to a person talking in a noisy room. As a result, the musicians were able to hear the talking person more clearly.
You may wonder why. The answer is that musicians can hear better because they learn to pay attention to certain sounds. Think about violinists. When they play with the group, they hear their own instrument and many others’ too. But they must listen closely to what they are playing, and pay no attention to the other sounds. In this way, musicians are able to focus on certain sounds, even in a room with lots of nose.
A doctor at Harvard Medical School works with stroke(中風(fēng))patients. These people cannot say their name, addresses or other information normally because of their illness. However, they can still sing. He was surprised to find that singing words helped his patients to speak. Why does this work? The doctor isn’t sure. Music seems to make different parts of the brain work, including the damaged(損壞的)parts. This might help patients to use that part of the brain again.
Music can improve concentration(注意力), memory, listening skills and overall language abilities. It can even help sick people get better. Playing an instrument or singing can help us do better in school and keep our brain sharp as we get older. Music is not only enjoyable but also good for us in many other ways.
【1】Musicians can hear better in a noisy room because they_________
A.can focus on certain soundsB.are cleverer than normal people
C.are trained to hear noisesD.have a gift in this
【2】The underlined word "sharp" probably means “_________"in the last paragraph.
A.quick to reactB.having a thin edge
C.strong or forcefulD.sudden and rapid
【3】What is the passage mainly about'?
A.Music can improve our hearing abilities.B.The relationship between music and language.
C.Music can keep our brain clear.D.Singing words can help sick people.

【題目】 The view you hold for yourself greatly affects the way you lead your life. It can decide whether you become the person you want to be and whether you achieve the things you value. How does this happen? How can a simple belief have the power to change your psychology(心理) and, as a result, your life?
Believing that your qualities are carved(刻) in stone — the fixed mindset — creates a great need to prove yourself over and over. Some of us are trained in this mindset from an early age. Even as a child, I was focused on being smart, but the fixed mindset was really stamped in by Mrs. Wilson, my sixth-grade teacher. She believed that people’s IQ scores told the whole story of who they were. We were seated around the room in IQ order, and only the highest-IQ students could be trusted to collect homework, or take a note to the principal. She was creating a mindset in which everyone in the class had one important goal-look smart, don’t look stupid.
I’ve seen so many people with this one important goal of proving themselves — in the classroom, in their careers, and in their relationships. Every situation calls for a confirmation of their IQ, personality, or character. Every situation is evaluated(評(píng)價(jià)): Will I succeed or fail? Will I look smart or stupid? Will I feel like a winner or a loser?
But doesn’t our society value IQ, personality, and character? Isn’t it normal to want these qualities? Yes, but ...
There’s another mindset, the growth mindset, which is based on the belief that your basic qualities are things you can develop through your efforts. Although people may differ in every which way — in their inborn talents, interests, or characters, everyone can change and grow through efforts and experience. Did you know that Darwin and Tolstoy were considered ordinary children? That the photographer Cindy Sherman, who has been on almost every list of the most important artists of the twentieth century, failed her first photography course? That Geraldine Page, one of our greatest actresses, was advised to give it up for lack of talent?
You can see how the belief that valuable qualities can be developed creates a passion(熱情) for learning. Why waste time proving how great you are, when you could be getting better? Why hide weaknesses instead of overcoming them? And why seek out the tried and true, instead of experiences that will better you? The passion for improving yourself and sticking to it, even when it’s not going well, is the feature(特征) of the growth mindset. This is the mindset that allows people to achieve success during some of the most challenging times in their lives.
【1】According to Paragraph 5, the example of Darwin and Tolstoy shows that _________
A.success has nothing to do with natural gifts.
B.it’s difficult to predict one’s future success.
C.achievements can be made through hard work.
D.the valuable qualities can encourage people to learn.
【2】The author strongly believes that we should _________
A.carry out an honest evaluation of our qualities.
B.see success as the only way to prove IQ or talent.
C.focus on self-development rather than self-proving.
D.believe good things will happen during difficult times.
【3】The main purpose of the passage is to _________
A.lead people to take the right mindset.
B.advise people to evaluate their mindset.
C.get people to know the influence of mindset.
D.explain the differences between two mindsets.
