【題目】 Confucius once said, “At 30, I took my stand. ” By this, he meant that a man should achieve something great when he turns30. Chinese actor Zhu Yilong is rising to fame (聲名鵲起) at this very age.

Zhu has become famous because of popular online shows like Guardian (《鎮(zhèn)魂》) and The Story of Ming Lan. His new show Skynet Action (《天網(wǎng)行動(dòng)》) came out on march 12. He plays a traffic officer on this show.

Zhu waited for 10 years to reach this level of fame. He is a graduate of the Beijing Film Academy. Since his first role in 2009, he has played nearly 40 roles. But most of them are not well-known.

This might be because of his personality. He is shy and quiet. He doesn’t say much during most of his interviews.

But this doesn’t bother Zhu. He said he would rather let his performances speak for him. Last year, he played three different roles on Guardian, including a college professor (教授), the professor’s brother and a peacekeeper. He had to come up with different ways to make the roles seem different from each other. He wore glasses while playing the professor, for example. 【題目】 In Western countries, some people think the number"13"brings bad luck. In the past, a lot of tall buildings didn't even have a 13th floor. However, there aren't really any other numbers that are special in this way in the West.

There are superstitions (A fa) about some numbers in China as well. For example, the number"4"is said to be unlucky because it sounds like the Chinese word for "death". But that's just one small example of China's superstitions about numbers.

When I first came here. I was surprised to see that many websites had numbers in their names instead of letters. I soon found that this is actually a matter of convenience, as Chinese

characters(漢字)cannot be used for website addresses. They can only use numbers or the letters of the Roman alphabet.

In pinyin, the telecom company Chine Unicom is called Zhongguo Liantong. If the company used their pinyin name for their website address,it would be quite long. So instead, they use their customer service hotline number--10010.com.This is easier to type and remember.

In addition, the pronunciations of some numbers sound similar to other words in Chinese.

This makes for some clever wordplay. For example, the numbers"5-2-0"in Chinese sound similar to the pronunciation of the Chinese phrase" "I love you". Many couples choose to get married on

May 20 for this reason.

It is interesting to see how Chinese people have used numbers in so many different ways.

1In the West, there are some other numbers that are like the number”13”

2The number"4" sounds like Chinese word for "death".

3In China, many websites have Chinese characters in their names

4China Unicom doesn't use "Zhongguo Liantong" as its website address because it is too long.

5Many couples choose to get married on May 20 because they will love each other more on that day.

【題目】 Teenagers need to eat nutritious (有營養(yǎng)的) food while they’ re still young so that they will grow up to be healthy adults. Therefore, it is necessary for school cafeterias (食堂) to provide healthy food. With this in mind, the government has introduced a new food safety regulation (規(guī)定) that will improve nutrition and health standards in schools.

The regulation took effect on April 1. It requires those who are in charge of kindergartens, primary and secondary schools to eat with students in their cafeterias. Schools will also be required to make information regarding food sources and suppliers (供應(yīng)商) public.

The regulation also suggests that parents should eat with students at school in order to provide advice on food safety and nutrition. Schools must find out food safety problems and solve them in a timely manner.

If a school is caught buying low-quality food or failing to report food safety incidents (事件), the people in charge of the school will be warned, fired or handed over to law enforcement (執(zhí)法機(jī)關(guān)), the regulation says.

Parents across China have become increasingly angry about food safety incidents in schools, according to The Beijing News.

The most recent example occurred in March at the Chengdu No 7 High Development School. Parents posted videos and photos of moldy (發(fā)霉的) food that was served in the school’s cafeteria, China Daily reported. The school’s principal was eventually fired.

In October, the head of an international school in Shanghai was fired after health and education authorities found moldy tomatoes and onions in the schools kitchen.

2The new regulation requires schools to ________.

A.show the public where their food comes from

【題目】 What does it take to graduate from university? A couple of classes, some papers or high scores? Well, all these are not enough if you’re a student at Tsinghua University.

According to a new rule of the university, students must prove themselves in the pool. They need to complete a swimming test of at least 50 metres, and those who fail the test will be required to take a swimming course throughout their school years. By the time they graduate, they will have known how to swim; otherwise they can’t graduate with their bachelor’ s degrees (學(xué)士學(xué)位).

This news made waves in Chinese social media. Some people praised the university for requiring a necessary skill that can save lives, and they also believed that the move would help improve students’ overall physical fitness. However, others questioned if it was fair to expect those who come from inland cities to be able to swim.

In fact. this is not a new rule. Tsinghua University first made swimming a requirement in 1919. It was later dropped because the number of students became too many and there weren’t enough swimming pools on the campus for them to learn swimming.

Anyway, it’s still good news that Chinese students’ health and fitness have become more and more valued. Why not just take this chance to equip (裝備) yourself with one more life-saving ability?

1According to the new rule of Tsinghua University, what skill should students have before they can graduate with their bachelor’s degrees?

A.Playing the pianoB.Swimming.

C.Playing basketball.D.Learning French.

2The following statements are the reasons for supporting the new rule except that ________.

A.it can help people save their lives

B.it’s good for students’ health

C.it would improve students’ overall physical fitness

D.it can help the students get high marks

3What does the writer think of the new rule?

A.It is strict.B.It is useful.C.It is useless.D.It is meaningless.
