【題目】將下列句子譯成英語,并將所譯句子寫在答題卡標(biāo)有題號的橫線上。
【1】這個暑假你打算做什么?
【2】我已經(jīng)決定讀一些書并游覽一些名勝古跡。
【3】養(yǎng)成一個良好的閱讀習(xí)慣對我們來說很重要。
【4】旅游被認(rèn)為是放松的最好方式之一。
【5】閱讀和旅游能給我們打開一個全新的世界。
【答案】
【1】What are you going to do this summer holiday?
【2】I have decided to read some books and visit some places of interest.
【3】It’s very important for us to develop a good reading habit
【4】Travelling is considered to be one of the best ways to relax
【5】Reading and travelling can open up a whole new world to us
【解析】
【1】這是一個特殊疑問句,先確定疑問詞是what;根據(jù)句意應(yīng)用一般將來時態(tài),be going to 結(jié)構(gòu),表示“打算做…”,主語是you,be動詞應(yīng)用are;時間狀語this summer holiday最好放在句末。故應(yīng)是:What are you going to do this summer holiday?
【2】根據(jù)句意可知,這句話應(yīng)用現(xiàn)在完成時態(tài)have done,主語是I;謂語動詞是decide,決定,常用于句型decide to do sth.決定去做某事;后面的賓語有兩個,read some books和visit some places of interest。故應(yīng)是:I have decided to read some books and visit some places of interest.
【3】這句話應(yīng)使用句型It is +形容詞+for sb. to do sth.,“對于某人來說做某事是…的”,句型中It是形式主語,真正的主語是動詞不定式。important重要的,形容詞;develop發(fā)展,培養(yǎng);reading habit閱讀習(xí)慣。我們根據(jù)這個句型,將單詞和短語一一代入即可,故應(yīng)該是:It is very important for us to develop a good reading habit.
【4】根據(jù)句意可知,這句話的主語traveling和動詞consider構(gòu)成被動關(guān)系,所以這句話應(yīng)注意使用被動語態(tài)be+過去分詞,一般現(xiàn)在時態(tài);consider sth. to be…是固定句型,“認(rèn)為…是…”;one of the +形容詞最高級+名詞復(fù)數(shù),“最…的之一”;to relax是動詞不定式,作后置定語,修飾way。連起來應(yīng)該是:Traveling is considered to be one of the best ways to relax.
【5】這句話的主語是Reading and traveling,是兩個并列的動名詞形式作主語;open up是固定短語,“打開”;a whole new world一個全新的世界,whole是形容詞,完整的,完全的,修飾world。故應(yīng)為:Reading and traveling can open up a whole new world for us.
這個題目是漢譯英,考查英語句子的表達(dá)能力,有一定的難度。做題時,應(yīng)注意不要逐詞將漢語變成英語,應(yīng)從句子的整體考慮,使用什么結(jié)構(gòu)、哪個句式、什么時態(tài)等,先確定句子的主干結(jié)構(gòu),即主謂賓或者主系表,然后再添加其他修飾成分。例如第2小題,我們先根據(jù)句意確定這句話應(yīng)用現(xiàn)在完成時態(tài);然后主語為I,謂語動詞是decide,它常用于句型decide to do sth.決定去做某事,所以我們應(yīng)用這一句型來翻譯后面的東西;讀書這個短語很簡單是read some books;另一個短語是visit some places of interest,注意名詞的復(fù)數(shù)形式,兩個短語中間用and連接。因此連起來應(yīng)該是:I have decided to read some books and visit some places of interest.

【題目】(題文)There are hundreds of funny and strange expressions in the English language. A lot of them include country names or nationalities. Take these examples:
The Dutch(丹麥人)are the target of most English expressions about nationalities. Why are there so many jokes about the Dutch in English? And what do these expressions mean? In the 17th and early 18th centuries, there were three wars between the British and the Dutch, and Dutch became a bad word. So double Dutch means something that has no meaning or is impossible to understand. A Dutch uncle is someone who gives much stronger advice than they need to. There are later expressions, which are funnier and kinder, like to go Dutch, which is nowadays a popular expression. It means to pay for your part of a bill. This often happens when a group of friends have a meal together, and each person pays for the food they ate. I’m a Dutchman is another commonly used expression. This means not being able to believe something.
An expression with a similar meaning to double Dutch is it’s all Greek to me, which means I don’t understand. The expression was made famous in Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar although the expression is actually hundreds of years older.
If you take French leave, you are not present or leave somewhere without permission. For example, you could take French leave from a classroom or the place where you work. This expression is from the 18th century when French people left parties without saying goodbye to the host or hostess.
There are Chinese whispers, which mean confused(令人困惑的)messages. This describes the fact that a message can often change as it is passed from person to person. This expression comes from the First World War when foreigners were often confused by Chinese language.
Many people find English expressions confusing, but now that you know about some of them, you can easily have fun finding out many more funny English expressions.
