【題目】閱讀下面的短文,然后根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容回答問題。
In recent years, many students from China come to the UK to attend school. Over 4,000 new students came in 2018 alone. Most Chinese students apply to(申請) a UK university after attending British middle schools. It can help them to find out more about a different culture and to experience high-quality teaching.
Studying in the UK will be a special and enjoyable experience. Unlike China, the UK isn’t a large country. You can see many great cities in a short time, such as London, Cambridge and Oxford. You are never more than 113 km from the sea.
Life for a student studying in the UK can be very exciting. Children start school at the age of 5. At 11, children go to middle school where they may study 10 subjects including maths, science, English, history and one or more languages such as French. Classes in the UK schools often have between 20 and 30 students. Most schools do not make students sit in the same seat for every lesson.
Children do not just learn from books or a screen, but enjoy different kinds of sports as part of their normal day, such as soccer, basketball and swimming. They can attend sports clubs after school.

【題目】 Many of us might want to take on traditional jobs when we grow up, such as being a doctor or lawyer. However, there are many more choices than just these that are available today.
In October, job-hunting website Zhaopin.com organized a report after surveying people who work in more than 800 different jobs in major Chinese cities. These jobs include early childhood educator, fitness trainer and makeup artist(化妝師). Most of the jobs pay well, with one in three workers earning more than 8,000 yuan a month. The top-paying job is veterinarian(寵物醫(yī)生). About 29 percent of these animal doctors earn over 20.00yuan per month.
These workers’ educational background is also important. Over 60 percent of the surveyed workers have a college degree(學位) or above, the report says.
Most of the workers said they chose their jobs out of love and interest in the area. Many of the jobs are no longer specific to one gender (性別). For example, the report found that one-third of childcare workers are men. These positions used to be filled almost only by women.
Many of these jobs are in the service industry(產(chǎn)業(yè)). Economic (經(jīng)濟師) development means people have more money to spend and are in greater need of high-quality services, China News Service noted.
For example, more people have started to raise pets. Pet owners will spend over 5,000 yuan per pet this year, an increase of 15 percent from 2017, Xinhua reported. The growing need for animal care, therefore, has encouraged more people to become veterinarians.
【1】What does the report issued by Zhaopin.com show?
A.Most people still prefer to work as doctors or lawyers.
B.There are many new job choices these days.
C.People make more money these days than before.
【2】Which job has the best pay, according to the survey?
A.Lawyer.B.Makeup artist.C.Veterinarian.
【3】Why are there many new jobs in the service industry?
A.Because people need more high-quality services.
B.Because they require fewer skills and less knowledge.
C.Because more people have started to raise pets.
【4】Which of the following is NOT true according to the article?
A.About 30% of workers earn over 8,000 yuan a month.
B.People without a college degree can’t find a job.
C.Two-thirds of child care workers are women now.
【5】What can we infer (推測) from the story?
A.Other new jobs may appear with people’s future needs.
B.Women will be replaced by men in the childcare industry.
C.Finding a job in big cities has become easier in recent years.

【題目】Answer the questions(根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容回答下列問題)
In general, laws for children are a good thing. One hundred years ago in industrial countries, children worked 18 hours a day in a factory at age seven. The factory owner could beat a child who fell asleep or was not fast enough. Both parents and teachers could do the same.
Today, there are many laws about children all over the world. Some people think children must obey rules or they should be punished others do not agree. The Inuits or Eskimos in Alaska almost never punish their children. The parents don’t hit them. If the children go too far, the parents punish them by making fun of them.
Children in other parts of the world are not as lucky as Eskimo children. American parents can spank(打……臀部) their children at home, but a teacher cannot hit a child in public school. This is also true in Germany. In contrast(對比), it is against the law for anyone to hit a child in Sweden. Swedish parents cannot spank their children. The children also have a special government official who works for their rights. There is even a plan for children to divorce from their parents though this is not a law yet!
【1】How were children treated in industrial countries 100 years ago?
________________________________________________________
【2】What does the author mean by “go too far?”
________________________________________________
【3】Can a teacher in Germany hit his students in public school?
